Thank you, I had exactly the same problems testing various gt3, gt4 cars, even warmed up, this game sometimes just randomly spins you out, usually under braking and coming out of a slow corner, 99.5% of the rabid fanboys will have non of it of course.

Nice vid, Had similar initial feels, however, the issue I found was that I was simply driving them like 1.5, reacting to the feed back from the car like 1.5......takes a while but you start to adjust to it and then it makes sense whats going on. The old muscle memory needs a reset as theres some big fundimentak changes thats benn implimented.

The 'understeery, oversteery' feel you mention, is largely a result of Reiza deciding what their driving characteristics should be on their default setup. So much people conclude they don't like the way their car drives compared to their other sim, so it must be bad/just different/Madness Engine. While in reality they're comparing car/track combos between sims but with different driving conditions and setups. My advice would be to learn and leverage the basics of adjusting car setups. Learn how to adjust your setup for a balanced turn in, mid corner and corner exit. AMS2 1.6 responds fantastically to setup changes, and creates in my opinion a huge leap from their default setups. It also shows a deeper level of realism, as all cars have setup options and ranges only allowed within their spec, and respond very predictively to every change. Also, their tire scrub sound is probably too loud at the moment, making you believe you're constantly sliding. Reducing tire sounds can improve this perception, but I hope they'll fix this in the future.

@@Br1am Thank you for the advice! Sounds like a plan! 😃 Will definitely look in to setup tweaking to fit my style 😊

There is something to be said about the ability to overcome understeer with more steering angle in AMS2. It is not a setup thing, it is a game physics thing and it is not realistic by any means. If the tyre slides already (so you're clearly beyond peak slip angle), magically generating more grip by applying more angle is just wrong.
@Br1am17 күн бұрын
@ this used to be a problem in AMS2. It’s not anymore. If you still don’t like it, fine, but there’s no need to go around making these type of false claims. Also, tires can slide a bit before reaching peak slip angle. Hence the name. Otherwise we would call it peak grip angle.
@slatanek17 күн бұрын
@@Br1am that's why I specifically said BEYOND the peak of the slip angle curve where the car is sliding off understeering.

Tough to judge what is going on with your driving without your inputs showing. Also the ERS modes no longer add engine power like they use to. It only impacts fuel usage like they do in real life. Higher the ERS setting the more hybrid power in place of ICE power which means better fuel economy.
@prettyninjaracing19 күн бұрын
@@DustySticks that's a good point about the inputs! Didn't think about that. I drove a race after I uploaded this in a GT3 Gen2 and it did feel a lot better. That's very cool about the ERS system. I see I have quite a lot to learn regarding LMDH cars in this title again. Thank you for the comment, super helpful 😄❤️

Totally, totally agree with your comments on AMS2 feeling "wrong". I was in the beta and tried to raise the issue with the devs, but all I got was responses like you are getting on your video now: "It's the (default) setup... It's your driving style... I don't feel anything wrong... It's your muscle memory... The game is just not for you... Tough to judge with no inputs showing... You didn't warm the tyres and brakes up enough... You don't know how a racecar should feel as you've never driven one." I call BS. There IS something wrong with the lateral grip in this game. It's especially apparent at lower speeds and becomes even more apparent with lower downforce cars, but even GT3s with quite some aero suffer from it. As an example: Take the BMW M4 GT3 out on Imola in Default conditions and you will see what I mean. Going into and especially coming out of slow corners, there is just waaaaaay too little grip. If I bought a GT3 and it handled like that... I'd have a serious discussion with the factory, my engineers and the tyre manufacturer. No way should a GT3 feel like that. It floats sideways and then suddenly grips up a bit. The faster the car and the more aero, the faster this happens and therefore becomes less noticeable, but as you experienced with the LMDh: If the effect is too strong, there's no way to catch it. Problem is: it should not happen. Anyway, I have now put AMS2 in the "fun to drive, but not overly realistic" category for myself. And for fun, it definitely is good and even better than before. For realism, I turn elsewhere though.

you're totally right, this thing will never be fixed. It's better now, but still cars drives weird, no sense of challenge at all. you drive a prototype like the Oreca or LMDh and nearly you can't lock up under braking and even if it happens the car remains on rail....if you try it after rf2/LMU you keep laughing because this seems a joke

Did you read the changelog for this update? It would seem not? Pushing way too hard and/or expecting far too much in the early laps. As the laps and your video went on it became clear that you are over driving the car from the get go. Be honest with yourself. Were your early laps in a 24hr race really like this compared to once you settled into a groove? You seem to brake and accelerate as if you are in a totally arcade driving game. Maybe GamerMuscle can help you lol.

@@RonniePeterson This was purely my first hour after the update and it was just a surprise at how little grip and aero the car had. Just going to take me a bit of time to retrain the brain. I did check my 24hr footage after the point you made, and I definitely could brake a lot later and carry more corner speed pre 1.6.3. So that probs why I didn't feel like I was over driving the car at all. 😊
