Carpuride has a Night Time setting for the cameras. It can be set to auto so it switches automatically.

Thanks for this video. I recently bought a BMW E92. My daily is a Lexus IS250 & I bought an android head unit to make it a bit more modern. The Lexus has one of the best stock sound systems I've ever heard in a car and I didn't lose any audio quality due to the replacement - some of them aren't compatible with the Mark Levinson audio system - the one I went for was, and worked perfect. I bought a retrofit android head unit kit for the E92 and had to rip it out and put the stock unit back in because the audio quality was just horrendously bad. I went for the Eonon P4, bought a bunch of right angled cables so I could have a really clean install and it looks OK, but sounds so much better than the retrofit kit!

Thank you for the honest review. I personally bought the Seicane after watching several reviews which all gave glowing recommendations. But once I tried it I realised how bad the audio quality was, so didn´t bother fitting it. So a waste of +$100

Love your stuff man. Have to say that having an older vehicle these devices make me drool. For me i think i would like only one solid cable from the unit. Where i could run it under (or stright through) the dash to behind the din radio then run the cables where needed. I havent found one that allows to plug with a external mic. i think it would be interesting if there was a single din amplifier/stereo designed to plug into a screen like this to work as one unit(maybe thrre is 🤔). I'm not saying the Seicane unit is great, but I just received one in the mail, having purchased it through the recommendation of another KZbinr for my particular car. I didn't actually realize these units were so common and readily available, but whatever... I think I have that $100 version, but it seems to be maybe a different model, as it says Seicane on the front of the device, instead of the back. I tried your bootup test, and while it did boot slower than the first 2 units, it was about 3 seconds faster than your unit. I found the one reason you seemed to bin this device was tied to it's ability to connect via FM, which seems like such a weird quantifier since I would think most people would have Bluetooth or USB in at very least in their car, given most cars released in the last 15+ years have at very least a 3.5mm audio in jack. I know there are older cars on the road, but I'd say FM connection would be a distant third as an audio choice in North American vehicles. I connected my phone to Bluetooth and the stereo and the audio sounds exactly the same as when I just connected my phone directly to my car. I agree that the dashcam adjustability and mount options on the other devices are a lot better. My unit does have 3 screws to detach the bottom, so I'm curious if I can find another mounting method that would work. I actually just blundered upon this, but if you press and hold the app icon in the bottom left it'll activate Siri and listen for a prompt. I know you mentioned one of the devices having a physical button to activate Siri was a plus, but this device does have a mic, it's placement just doesn't seem obvious. My guess is it's somewhere near the camera on the back. I think you don't see the devoted Siri button because there isn't enough vertical space to show it along with all the other UI elements. Again, I'm not saying the Seicane unit is the best, but I think you graded it pretty harshly, when in my experience with it so far, it's a pretty capable device and not nearly as bad as you've made it out to be.

Thanks for the comment man! I didn’t only try the FM transmission, all the transmission, including the Aux resulted in very muffled and bad quality audio. Maybe they updated their unit, which was probably a good idea. I posted a video reviewing the Seicane unit, before I realized the bad audio wasn’t my speakers, and so many people commented stating the audio was terrible. That is definitely a hidden feature, which is useful. I’ll think about that next time I fumble with it. The mic being placed behind the unit isn’t a great idea, but atleast it has a mic. Should be in a better spot imo.

I want a unit to bypass my truck stereo and connect straight to amp and speakers. but i dont want to replace the original stereo so i need something like this screens. I dont care about cameras, all i need is blue tooth and good sound quality and the smaller the better. what do you recomend?

So how come the camera is better on the carpuride. The carpuride w903 has a 720p camera and eonon has a 1080p and 4K front camera

I'm trying to find one in that format but with 4 cameras (4 channel), I have a sprinter and want to use it as a 360 system. The ones here probably only supports 2 cameras (2 channels). Thanks for the reviews, they are really helpful. I just subscribed.

Hi, do you think it's worth comparing these units based on the software support from the manufacturer? Like if they have a web site where you can download new firmware versions with bug fixes and new features... I wonder if there is a chance that in the future Apple or Google may release new version of CarPlay or Android Auto that make these units stop working or unable to use the new features and may need new firmware from the manufacturer...

I think it’s all down to what kind of dash you have. It might leave a mark on leather but it don’t do anything on my plastic dash. I used the adhesive on a vinyls styled dash in my 1987 Mercedes and it didn’t leave anything

All of them are bad. No matter how expensive fm thing you buy (as a headunit tablet thing shown in the video or dedicated cigarette lighter charger one) it will sound like your friend's old phone with equalizer turned all the way up to sound louder. Better buy aux-bluetooth adapter. You can solder/buy an adapter from antenna wire to make aux or better "activate" aux (like in VW rcd200)

When you connect to another device, it should be seemeless aslong the devices that was connected isn’t near it. If the other device is near, you need to disconnect from it via your phones settings to allow the other phone to connect.

I've bought the Seicane a few months ago. I must admid that the 4k works very well. But,indeed the audio quality is very bad and the frame is not very stable or steady. It shakes up and down most of the time,even on a smoothly road. Another thing that's annoying on the device is, when it's starting up,it goes from camera,back to menu on itself,so you have to push on the camera again. And like the video said,it takes a while to start up,so you're sitting in your car ...waiting. So,i regret buying this junk. Be warned.!!

The most frequent bad reviews I see for all of these types of units is that they all seem to develop crashing, reboot loops, or random shutdowns after just a short time of a month to less than a year - have you thought of revisiting any of these units or testing their longevity? Seems like maybe many of them suffer from overheating problems maybe? I'd love to get one of these, but not if it's likely to be a paperweight in a few weeks or months of use.
