To change the boot logo, do the following: 1. Format a microSD card (FAT32). 2. Get your logo (1600 x 600) and save to the microSD card as: boot_logo.jpg (not in a folder) 3. With the unit ON already, insert the microSD card. It will say "Prompting" then something like "Logo update complete." 4. Restart the unit, and it should start up with your new logo. It didn't work for me. It says the logo is updated but instead of replacing the image with my own it just removes it, so now it loads up with no image. Any idea? Formatted the 64gb sd card that it comes with thru the device and when i check on my pc it says its FAT32. I just drag and drop boot_logo.jpg into the root directory and plug it in while the device is on but it doesn't work.

Every single review about these kind of devices are ignoring it completely and barely keep it to a "yes, it has it". I want to know how good it looks, are there issues with nightsight, how is the refreshrate, how easy is it to record, is there a way to emergency record, that sort of stuff...

I got a cinandrow brand from temu and it’s amazing. It had all the same features as the lamtto. The camera raises and lowers which helps when you can’t mount it excatly where needed. And the audio sounds amazing.

My wife bought a screen similar running the same software. The only thing I cant figure out is how to turn the onboard speaker off, because when I turn down the vehicle audio at a drive thru or whatever the units built in speaker still plays the audio. Small issue but Id rather turn it down than have to get my phone from my pocket to pause the audio it that makes since.

I have a usb bluetooth adaptor that i connect to the cars aux and powered by the usb port from car play's power supply while still connected to the carplay. Comepletely got rid of the buzzing sound instead of using the radio frequency. Not the most practical solution but it works for me 😊

With any of these systems, the rear camera has a cable which connects to the device. The way it knows there's reverse is through the reverse light. You splice into the power wire to one of your reverse lights which connects into the camera cable to trigger the device and know the car is in reverse.

I got 3 different brands including this brand and they all have something wrong. One of them the unit speakers didnt work and its missing the usb port which on amazon pictures and description says it has one. Second unit get really hot and its missing window mount. Third unit which is this brand, doesnt want to connect to fm and also takes a while to boot android auto

I just mounted this unit which I saw on this channel. 2014 Mazda 6. First drive lasted 30 minutes, the unit turned off and on by itself 6 times, while using Google map.Screen went black, then came start up screen. The Bluetooth connects to my car but I could not get the Lamtto Bluetooth to connect to cars Bluetooth. It plays fine , just turns off and on.Any ideas. Thanks

So I received this Lamptto CarPlay dash cam for Christmas 2023. Loved using it and its features. However, after 6 months the unit just died after 1 hour of driving. I recently installed my Lamtto RC07 connecting through the AUX output. Everything works fine until I make or receive a phone call. If I am listening to the radio or Spotify etc and I receive or make a phone call when I hang up, I no longer get any sound from whatever I was listening to previously, I have to restart the device in order to get the sound back. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong. Any help or advice would be great

Had the same issue with mine but what i noticed was that it only ever happened when I answered on my phone. If I answered using the lamto it was fine. My guess is that it disconnects thinking you turned off the Bluetooth but your phone is still obviously connected so it’s like the Spiderman meme where neither knows who messed up😂 either way yeah it sucks and is the reason why I sold mine

don't buy it!!! mine was broken only after few hours of using (horizontal line on the screen appears). In addition to that: when using carplay music+navigation+unit DVR function = music intermittently stops and distorted every few minutes. The only removing sd card and turn off DVR helps. Yes sound quality much better than Seicane, but both my carplay devices: Seicane and Lamtto are moving to trash, they can't be used.

No doubt it will, I have a dash cam that is on 24/7 in my van. If I leave it plugged in it will drain the battery after two days. With that screen on that unit, I'm sure it will do the same.

Isn't it just quieter on Seicane unit, it isn't the max volume of audio on the system that you have? Or maybe it is not just quietness, hard to judge, also I am not an audiophile really, for me I would need it mostly for navigation (and other carplay-ish things) and dashcam would be a nice bonus, as phone loses charge fast when I use it for navigation and music.

Hey AutoMotive, was recently watching your video on the 4.0 Jeep motor, and the Grand Cherokee video, I have a 2001 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.0L with some issues, biggest being one of my turn signals is out. Wondering what it could be I’ve done many things, such as replacing bulbs, didn’t work, replacing sockets, didn’t work, replacing the Hazard/turn signal relay, didn’t work, it’s only my front left turn signal that refuses to shine and the jeep has been sitting in my backyard for almost a year now with me tinkering here and there to see if I could find out the issues. The original owner (I’m the 2nd on paper) loved this thing, parked on concrete, washed after every drive on salted roads, maintained it when needed, it is the cleanest WJ frame I have seen, so I don’t want to part with it seeing as it only has 141,000 miles the guy I bought it from had it for 2 years and thrashed it in the woods on his property, ruining the front suspension components, and lazily spliced HIDs into the low beams. It could be a wiring issue, and if it is I am willing to rewire all of his bs. If I don’t need to do that then I can pretty it up a bit and mount them to the firewall properly, if you have any input about why the one turn signal will not work, anything is useful, I’ve been on many community pages on Facebook and most people say the same things. Hopefully you see this and have a response, I am looking forward to it.👍🏻

my unit has the fm transmitter in the 12V power plug. i didn't use fm anyway so i used a universal usb c which works fine. so yes, but you'll lose the fm connection.

That's called a ground loop. It's caused by the ground being supplied by both the power cable and the aux cable at the same time. You can either modify the cable to not include a ground on either aux or power, or you can get a cheap in-line ground loop isolator that plugs in between your aux cable and the car

No it automatically starts recording so if you have the mic enabled watch what you say or it could be in some critical piece of video about an accident and there you are singing along to "Wonderwall".

Installed one tonight, unfortunately it had to go closer to my windshield as my 2015 Impala has a stash box and the stock head unit slides up for the cubby hole... so, to clear the path of the face unit, it had to close to the windshield... it glares a lot, but I turned down the brightness... I had no problems driving with it, it's a bit distracting right now, but I'm sure I'll get used to it... I had maybe 20 minutes total night driving with it tonight. Happy so far.

Can you test multiple iphone connection? If you and your partner connects, can you easily swithch betwenn phones. What if you drive the car and connect the phone, and another time your partner wants to connect. does the device remember both connections and connect the one which is in range. And what if both of you are in the car can you select between the phones without reconnecting everytime.

hey, I also bought this now and it has the advantage of letting me use my direct phone to original Car-BT Audio as before but still can be used and connected as the primary Carplay Screen. However when it turn on it shortly plays on the own speakers and then just after disconnects again to let me use the car's speakers again. Is there a way to avoid this short interception of the gadget letting sound play on its own speakers for the few seconds? Seems like a minor problem but in everday use it sounds like crappy cheap "afterwards bulit in" solution which it sure is but shouldn't feel like ;)

I’m some aspects, yes they are similar but not the same. Manufactures swap between different hardwares and screen quality types. This unit is not cheap quality especially compared to the Seicane one. They all aren’t created equal.
