Wrecks to Riches | S1E8 | The Legend

Barry White's reputation as an award winning hot rod builder is on the line. He has a crazy idea to recreate a '60s Stock Car - in race-trim, but street legal. And not just any Stock Car; he's asked legendary race car driver Parnelli Jones for permission to reproduce his 1964 Mercury Marauder and he doesn't want to let him down.
Normally Barry needs four weeks to transform old wrecks into auction drawcards, but this time he only has three. He's thinking a rough and ready stock car should be any easy build. Until he finds out nobody makes the parts anymore.
Adding to his worries, he doesn't have his normal team of workers and has to call in some family favors.
The speed shop is stressed to the max, so it's all hands on deck. But will everyone pull their weight?
He has two deadlines, the McCormick auction in Palm Springs, and an assessment of his work from Parnelli Jones himself.
Will he make the grade and make some money?

guys, plain washers behind the lock nuts, mask up painted parts to avoid damage, most builds done in a rush are a comedy of errors and a lack of attention to detail, plan your build earlier, do a rough build so you have all the parts, do an unequaled job without compromise and get top dollar for your work. big thumbs up for the fire service

Any body know of a show that does builds like this just without all the stupid drama and "dynamic" camera angles? I found iron resurrection which is an absolutely amazing show and the builds are beyond incredible but I've watched every single episode of the 5 seasons and now I need a new show to watch. I've tried watching this but I can't deal with the fabricated drama and the ridiculous camera angles.

The guy I work with for years is 57 and tells me amazing stories of his older brothers 1970 stock Boss 429 he had and my friend got to ride in all the time. The Car would literally shake all the windows in his house when his brother fired it up. NO car could catch it period. It was a Hurst 4 speed and could get rubber in any gear at any time. That is the car I would like to build if given the money and time. I grew up in those times and they were as Great as you think they were.... RH DSD

What's with the rear leaf springs? I though this was a "Super muscle car" and they were using 21st century parts! An upgraded rear suspension to me should include independent rear suspension! However leaf springs and a solid axle = muscle car to me too so idk!!! But I think there is deffinately a better way!

Why paint the car before the project is long from finished?...shouldnt be suprised with a damaged paint job. Fyi, get a new parts guy. Ardell Brown the gentleman who bought the 69 mustang is a legitimate car collector and the purchase was not staged, i saw this same car in his collection 6 years later during a tv interview in 2012. he passed away in march 2018 ,some of his his collection was sold off at mecum auctions las vegas in 2018

I think Ardel paid too much, that car just isn't worth 56k. Better if they had built a stock Mach I clone with it, but still not worth 56. I've seen real 428CJ Mach I's sell for less, nice ones, not perfect show quality but nice cars none the less.
