Even though the short shaft plugs don’t reach the contacts at the bottom for a secure fit I still get a nice e spark that adjusts accordingly to the dial setting - what are your thoughts? False readings? Why would it still spark? Idk who else to ask and maybe u might?

Sounds like the spark is arcing to the plug becuase its close enough. You could always find something conductive/metal and stick on end of plug and jam it into the machine for direct contact? Probably be a better spark vs arcing spark? IDK

Device should display good or bad. visual spark doesn't help.
