It's entirely possible to enhance your performance and lose weight without tapping into the full potential of exercise.
To unlock this potential, we need to stimulate a latent mechanism within your body: autophagy.
Understanding the two primary ways exercise activates autophagy is crucial, as they are the keys to leveraging exercise for longevity.
We will delve deeper into the fundamental principle that triggers autophagy during exercise and explore how this process unfolds.

Thanks. I often hold my breath for 10 to 15 seconds every 5 minutes or so during the fast part of my morning walk (I walk flat out for about 200 meters during each of 4 quarter mile laps). Using my finger SpO2 I can see the drop in O2 levels to around 90 percent and also a significant increase in heart rate by the end of breath hold. Also occasionally do morning breathing exercises where I lower my Sp02 to high 60 to low 70 percent range by end of three or four rounds. By the end of my breathing routine my heat rate drops to about 50 bpm at rest.

the AMPK detector must detect low ATP and high AMP. but there are mechanisms connected to dropping pH levels as well. lactate is a mechanism to buffer pH levels and lactate can be combined with phenylalanine to a molecule LacPhe that has hormonal effects (hunger goes down, .....)
@WellnessMessiah
@WellnessMessiah 7 ай бұрын
Yes, the lactate is very important. Yes, it had a bad reputation. Lactate suggests hypoxia, because it means your body doesn't have enough oxygen so it has to burn glucose via glycolysis = which leads to lactate production.

Big question: Most experts recommend to intake protein during the first 2 hours after resistent exercise to provide the muscles the needed repair materials. BUT protein activate mTOR and stop autophagy. So, what is better: Intake protein for muscle growth or let the autophagy continue?

Of course! Actually intense swimming holding one's breath followed by a round of bhastrika (to bring O2 levels back up) should get you the same results.

Doesnt hyperpoxia benefit longevity as well as achieved in hyperbaric chambers?
@WellnessMessiah
@WellnessMessiah 7 ай бұрын
That's a good question. With hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), the situation is a bit more complex. It provides an excess of oxygen, which is beneficial for rejuvenation (this is why I chose it for my wife's treatment), but it also creates a state of perceived hypoxia when the oxygen is reduced, as explained by Sinclair in this video. I'm planning a three-month experiment with HBOT, where I will test various aging markers both before and after the treatment period.

Diet is more important than exercise for longevity. Anyhow, they don't live extremely long on average, they have outliers that may posses genetic advantages. That's the problem with association studies. The blue zones are association - not cause.
