I'm a retired third generation master printer.....can't begin to say how much I miss it....can't get the smell....but the sound of a high speed offset press running is music to my ears.....videos like this help!

@@druckerman247 My web press job in San Francisco, late 1970s, head pressman had custom-fitted earplugs. 20-something years old, I quipped that I liked how quiet the world outside was when I left work. He laughed and said, "yes, and it'll get quieter and quieter!" I went out a few days later and got my own set of earplugs.

The good thing about today's presses is the APC and automatic blanket and back cylinder washers, not to mention automatic inkers.

I miss the sound and smells of a print room, Lost my presses in the 2008 economic crash. Great to see the technology of the presses has advanced so much since then.

Ya the technology has changed but printing is still the same Ink/water/paper/pressure. I run am 8 color with Cold Foil and 2 coaters , print packaging is really where it's at definitely the hardest to master cause you use so many different things. Pearl coating, cold foil printing on plastic, reflective mylar

No need to setup the job? Register and the right Color density's? It all looks to easy. When I was a printer, we had color samples that had to be matched or sometime the customer came to the press to check the colors.

You know it. I had to run proofs fo the client. keep the colour density exact throughout say a 50,000 run. i had no computer density machine, i had to do everything manually on a Ryobi3304h 4col, and i tell you once you tune in the ink ducts and you got it 99.9% right, you celebrate until the next job which is a grey solid with tons of transparent white.... nightmare!!

@@ploij89 Same here with a old Heidelberg GTO. That old Piece is now in Pakistan for a second Life.
