I have a 2009 cx-7 gt and have a problem after battery was changed. Alarm goes off randomly and drains battery. I took horn fuse out, but lights if they go on during night, drain battery. Code came back as B1261 Mazda Code - Solar Radiation Sensor Circuit Short To Ground. There are more codes that came up software related, but this seems to be the permanent code. I was told by mechanic to go to dealer to fix it since its software electrical related. I don’t want to be taken advantage of. It would be great to know what possibly needs to be done and labour to fix it so I have an idea of what this entails. I wish I could fix it myself, but if it’s a software reset, sadly I can’t.

Unless you're doing other things on the engine that might require it, there is no need to drain the coolant. You might lose a few ml and have to top up the reservoir after completion of the job, that's all. You can reduce this loss if you simply have your new sender ready at hand and pull the old one out and pop the new one in a clean swap in pretty much two movements. The image of that dreadfully-tortured and restrictive black plastic turbo intake pipe reminded me that I should advize that the first job anyone needs to do on their Mazda MPS 3 or 6 is to replace it that awful turbo intake pipe with a stainless or alloy one of larger and consistent diameter, and feel the instant difference that more free breathing offers. Of course, this would be just the start of a modest "uptune" process but a worthwhile one nonetheless..... For those interested in the next step, you could simply lose the bulky stock air-filter under the LHS fender and put on a Cold Air Intake (CAI) pipe and cylindrical or conical air-filter like a K&N. Of course, the car already has one by virtue of the hidden scoops under the bonnet that feed the intercooler, but replacing the intercooler with the air-filter at that position so the air-filter gets the cool air and moving the intercooler up the front of the car (FMIC) is a better way to go all round but obviously a bigger job. This setup has the added dual advantages of: 1) not having a CAI pipe stretching across the engine bay to some point behind the front valance, usually on the LHS, where it can get cold air, and maybe having to build an airbox around it to ensure the air it gets is not admixed with hot engine bay air, and 2) getting the intercooler out of the hot rising air from the engine and exhaust so it can be more efficient and, if one wished, installing a larger and/or more efficient intercooler as there is more space for one beind the front grill where it can still be entirely unobtrusive. 3) After sorting out those items and geting better airflow in, the next step is to improve the airflow out. The turbo dump pipe is almost as horrible and restricted as the intake pipe and needs to go. I replaced mine with a 3" stainless dump pipe with cats, but the rest of the exhaust is stock. I tried a larger exhaust but it cackled loudly and droned at fixed speeds and drove me nuts, so I threw it out in just a day of driving and went back to stock. It's quiet and suits me fine and power is way up on the stock car even without turbo mods and thecar is a nice gentle sleeper, with no extenal cues to these (IMO vital) useful mods.

Hi guys, love your videos! Question: I have a Mazda CX 7 I had the A/C compressor replaced by a mechanic. Now my A/C does not work and my temperature gauge runs from normal to cold. What do I need to say to mechanic who replaced the A/C compressor? My bill state's that system was recharged and fluids flushed and replaced. Thanks so much... Canada

Does the coolant temperature sensor plastic piece where the plug goes onto supposed to move freely as in spin when you hold it with both hands at opposite ends? Or is that bad ?
@zenasia9293 жыл бұрын
What is the piece called that you unplugged from the temperature sensor?

I have one that is fractured where it bends where the prongs are trying to come out of the sealant from the connector. But I’m not getting any codes or anything like that I just left it in there and haven’t had any issues but I am getting a stored code for P0421 which is catalyst, efficiency code which to me could be the EGR because when I pulled the EGR pipe out it was full of carbon buildup but I never cleaned the EGR itself so my guess would be the next step to clean the EGR what do you think? Do you think I could get a P0421 code from the EGR
