As a MK2 RS owner, I have to say she isn't probably as fast around the Ring as the newest generations, but as aesthetic, sound, no interferences from the electronics.. absolutely wonderful, so many feelings through the steering wheel and the car herself.. I won't change mine! (and tuned is even better!) 🥰🥰

To each their own, I suppose. I've driven many a hot hatch throughout my life, and the best one I've ever had the pleasure of being behind the wheel in was a 2004 Ford Focus SVT. It *did* have 4 doors, but it wasn't AWD, and it had a 6-speed manual, so no DSG/DCT, etc. I owned that SVT Focus for three years, and enjoyed driving it just as much on the thousandth drive as I did the first. It had a few tasteful modifications, like a header-back exhaust, cold air intake, Diablosport tune, Ohlins (I think) adjustable suspension, very modest chin spoiler/side skirts/rear diffuser kit, gunmetal Euro-spec multi-spoke wheels, short-throw shifter, and a nice sound system. To this day, I haven't driven a vehicle that comes close to the sense of connection I'd get while driving that little Focus. Everything about it was perfect for having a little fun on some twisty back roads while never coming close to touching unsafe or overwhelming speeds. I've been on the lookout for a super clean, low-mileage 2004 Ford Focus SVT ZX5 in Competition Orange for about 5 years. Hopefully I can find one & pull the trigger on it, because I miss that car more than any other that I've owned, or even that I've just driven before. If you ever get the chance to take an '03/'04 Focus SVT for a spin, take it. They are incredibly good little cars.

ahhh this is a CLASSIC man. Haven't seen this for years, saw the thumbnail and was hit with a wave of nostalgia. I remember using it on my PS3 playing need for speed most wanted 2012, one of those off road races. the best way to summarise this car for me is its what every 18 year old with a tinted and straight piped corsa THINKS their car looks like lol.

Love it, but I recommend the AMPethamin 3.5 or beastfactory 3.5 exhaust, this makes the sound just perfect. Maybe you will get the chance to test st or rs with them, one day.💪🏼

Come to England & you could pick one up for just under £20k. They're going up in value. If you wanna go cheaper you can pick up an Mk2/2.5 ST for around £4k-5k for a decent one. I have an Mk2 ST & it's a great car & has been tuned with Dreamscience mod XRS with all associated mods needed for the power gains, its around 310bhp which is plenty for me. They do have some problems like many cars & as long as you take care of them they are generally alright. Definitely recommend picking one up for Auto top NL 👍🏻

I agree, MK2 RS is really good, it sounds like hell and it's fast enough for basically anything. I always wanted this exact car. But because I use my cars as dailies I settled with a Polo GTI 2019 manual, which I assume will be good to be driven as a daily, all year.

I have an st people told me their wasn’t much difference with the R.S. but my god their is not only can it rev all the way to to limiter with no problems and and it bangs off the rev limiter too I find with the st you have to shift around 6000rpm and that’s where the power band is and it doesn’t even bang off the rev limiter neither the less tho their both good cars in their own way

I always wanted one of these - but the engine issues scared me off.. ended up with a BMW M135i LCI and then went to a Golf R MK 7.5.. didn't swallow the brave pill at either time and went with the RS! LOL! - it could easily drain your bank account.

@Speedmaster not sure if this is store or not - but they had issues with the original head gasket design and ford dragged their heels over providing a fix for it - with an eventual recall and a new head gasket and or cylinder head provided where required… when I was looking - I was aware of the issue and ford hadn’t yet done anything to fix it - so I got my Golf R and then about 6 months after ford put in place the fix… maybe google will help if you’re still struggling

you know the engine is not soo "tough" as people think. They suffer from the stock Oil rings on the pistons jamming up with sod, meaning the car starts burning A LOT of oil etc. They need to be changed to the new design ones and THEN the engine is healthy and good if you take good care of it!

I mean, you can rebuild it. But it's not really necessary. It grips really well and cuts corners like it's nothing. If you know your way around gas and clutch it won't spin.
