Great review! Way better than our Dutch AutoBlog team which has a habit of making these reviews quite boring. Loved this review, very detailed and in-depth and the reviewer really sold the cars best attributes well.
@arkachatterjee5179 Жыл бұрын
I’ve had mine for 5 years now and hope to keep it for another 5. I agree with all of the reviewer’s “likes” here and wish Audi would make another small PHEV like this one. PHEV is such a great solution for a daily driver - my only real complaints about the car are (1) I wish it had a little more EV range and (2) I wish it had memory and ventilation for the otherwise extremely comfortable seats.
@Speedbanshee Жыл бұрын
what average fuel consumption can i expect if i go for a 500 miles trip without charging the car? did you notice some loss of electrical autonomy already?
@arkachatterjee5179 Жыл бұрын
@@Speedbanshee if driving 75-85mph on well-graded highways you’ll get between 32-35mpg. At 65mph you’ll do better - close to 40mpg. As for the hybrid battery, yes it has lost some range -probably a 15% reduction over a 5 year period, though I charge and drain the internal battery multiple times per day to handle multiple local commutes. The good news is that I rarely use gas in the day-to-day even with reduced range - I go months between fill-ups. But on longer trips you’ll definitely need to refuel about every 300-330 miles.

I leased one for a GREAT bargain at year's end. It's only a few weeks in, but what a step up from "another" hybrid I used to own. They really did the interior right, all the bells and whistles on the Premium Package are great, and it really is responsive when you hit the pedal. Also, the dynamic driving mode is very sporty and responsive. If you can get it for a reasonable price, it's hard to beat.

I've had three Audi's (TT, A3, S6) and the reliability of the electrics are awful. I reckon the electrics on Audis are fine until the cars are about 5 years, after that, good luck. Not sure i'd trust Audi with all those hybrid electric parts... Could get expensive, real fast. Audi will of course be nice to Autotrader reviewers. Next time you visit a dealer as part of a review, do it in an 'undercover' fashion . Other than that, EXCELLENT review!

What was the long term MPG of everything combined? Im guessing if you were traveling to work through the city you could just use electric mode and not need to use any petrol?
@notmyfirstdaycooton70408 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you're going 20 miles around city, you'll forget even where the petrol fill is. I'm two weeks, about 200 miles in and out of town, and it's down about 1/3...

My average over the past 2.5 years has been 104.6 mpg (2.7 litres per 100 km). That's a short city commute daily and a longer trip out to visit family each Sunday (that exceeds the battery range of 33 km) and the very occassional overnight trip without the charger.
@clwydianuk6 жыл бұрын
My average per tank is about 65mpg but saving the elec for places like Manchester rush hour is luxury. The regeneration is impressive when you come back from some place high (nth Wales being hilly). The 3pin charger will do 16amps which is a bit high for a three pin but then it's almost the same charge time as a type2 chargepoint. Do most of my charging at home

Nicely presented, but how about letting us know how much it averaged in mpg, and how much it cost to charge it up every week. plus how much did the dealer charge for the service? (ps, if I turned up to a car dealer with a camera crew in tow I'm pretty sure I would receive great service as well). :)

When its quite inside road and tire noise become more apparent. In e-cars I always get more road noise and tire noise. I prefer the subtle hum of a petrol engine as it blends in with the ambient sounds much better. The driving characteristics of this battery car is also less than the petrol versions cause the weight distribution is worse on the e-tron. The battery is heavy and u notice that in turns and bumps etc.

Can this car plug directly into a public charging cable? Meaning, the driver does not need to travel with a cable
