I bought something similar to the Black Widow. I got the Rocky Ridge. I knew I was paying well over what I could have built it for. For me, I felt my time was worth the price not having to deal with the hassle of getting all the work done after purchase. I could have got a Raptor for just a few thousand more when I got it but I really wanted the 5.0 motor. Town and Country is installing a Supercharger as soon as my alternator bracket comes in.

Always great to see your videos. As a previous owner of a C63 AMG and now a current owner of a Ford F-150 I just like to say a couple things. Explaining why someone would buy something like a Black Widow or Black OPS or FTX, and so many other ones that Tuscany or SEA makes it comes down to this. Yes they are expensive that’s for sure no doubt about it. It’s a select customer that buys something like this. Can you do it cheaper yourself? Yes of course you can. Can you also get a warranty that fully protects a lifted truck? You can easily bring it to any ford dealership and get anything done for free from front to back and covers everything. I bought the FTX and sure it’s expensive but I was in the market for something different, something you don’t see everyday. The looks and questions about it everyday from random people is awesome. It’s completely worth it to me and I get far more looks in my truck compared to a rare and stock 350Z Nismo. Definitely respect your videos and insight and thought I share some input as well.

I just purchased a 2021 Black Widow. I sold my 2011 6.2L F250 6” lifted truck with 22” Hostile wheels wrapped in 37x13.50x22 Nitto tires. I got an ok deal for my Black Widow truck. I chose the SCA BW because it has a warranty 3yr/36000 miles. Once you lift a Lariat or any other base model it voids the warranty. Plus everyone is lifting there trucks nowadays. So I wanted to be a little different. There are other option with the Black Widow package you didn’t mention. Like the Black Widow logo door light when you open your door.

Got my Ram Black Widow brand new for less than the msrp was on the stock Laramie. MSRP on my truck was little over $68k. Black Widow markup was about $16k. So basically got the Black Widow stuff for free

Buy the 3.5 Ecoboost HO and get a tune, you’ll smoke a 5.0 with a supercharger and still get decent fuel economy for a full size truck.

@@tylerj6832 yes it is. Turbocharged anything nowadays can produce ridiculous HP while staying efficient. That’s basically why all exotics are turbocharged now along with F-1 cars. Hybrid systems are the most effective as the small electric motors give instant and massive torque that turbocharged motors tend to lack at low rpm’s.

The company who put the black widow lift together for dealerships are located right down the road from my parents in Trussville,AL. So they see all the trucks and even jeeps going from stock to lifted and shipped out.

I made one phone call to TC customs a few months ago and spoke to Colin and when they could have helped me he said “I can’t help you” My request was minor. I needed parts from the suspensions that they discard every day in the garbage when they install lifts. I wanted to pay for them of course and he said “I can’t help you” so no they aren’t as helpful as they seem unless you buy vehicles from them I guess. And I could refresh his memory if he would like. I have never spoken or dealt with Mitchell so I have nothing bad to say about him or the organization as a whole.

You are right on it depends on the buyer. If I could afford it, Id buy that Black Widow. Knowing me, power isnt a big deal (I wont be towing anything, and dont care about speed or sound, but comfort is a huge deal to me). That is a good looking truck, and Im wondering if they would do this to a Powerboost engine, and subtract the lift and exhaust. But still have the rest of the package.

It took me two days of negotiations between two rivalry dealerships but I just got my 2023 Rocky Ridge Ford F-150 back in February. Sticker was $107K and I financed it for $74K at 1.9%. I talked them down to $67K but after taxes ended up being $74K. And I will say for the warranties and peace of mind I don’t think I did that bad because a new fully loaded XLT will run you about $55K-$60K. So when you think about it like that I only paid $14K for a “Rocky Ridge” package. Oh and my truck is also on a Lariat Chassis.

That's a very nice truck I'm not a Ford guy but if I do it's got to be a V8 I do not like the turbo noises and the exhaust doesn't sound V8 at all I hate EcoBoost but the truck's nice I just couldn't never see myself paying that much the most I ever paid for my Dodge four door what's 26 and it only had 68,000 miles and it was 4x4 lifted and all

Solid video Mike. Appreciate the transparency. IMO It is definitely better to do a custom build on any vehicle rather than purchase a dealer custom build. The wheels on this truck do not work for the overall look of the truck. They definitely need to be changed to an all black wheel.

Tca does superchargers too? I had to drive all the way to freehold NJ from Dayton Ohio to have my lightning tuned up back in the day. I didn't know Ford dealers could do that. My local dealer did a leveling kit, 35" KO2's with 2 inch offset for me, as well as my borla atak exhaust. But I didn't think they touched the engine work.

I think it all comes down to personal preference and whether or not a person wants to research and upgrade on their own or buy upgraded off the lot. I am looking at one that has everything except a moonroof, I really want a moonroof, so do I give in or wait? I think anyone who is buying this is willing to trade off some power for looks and if they think it's going to perform the same, pull the same they are not a real truck person.

Hey I just got a 22 f150 lariat 3.5 eco boost. Has only 1k miles, drives awesome around town and even on highway but when accelerating and at high speed it seems to shudder or even on inclines or when rpms come down a little. I saw some stuff in my back seat shaking a bit. Does it need to break in more??

SCA and another company are a huge waste of money. Paint matched fiberglass/composite panels (some attached via double-sided stick tape), horrible tire/wheel combos, lift, and embroidered seats...nothing that improves performance, it's all just appearance garbage that is more likely closer to $8-$10k (there are variances). I'd avoid them. I'd also avoid the Roush packages - the best thing in this is the upgraded suspension, and tires (generally). I'd likely still change the wheels and the rest is all appearance, badging, etc. No power added. And it's $15 - $20k (ish). Nothing to add power, etc.

That Black Widow is nice on balance; just not a fan of big wheels (18”+) or the stance on that truck. Specifically, the tires stick too far out from the body & that goes back to a poor choice of wheels that have an offset that’s not appropriate for this application.

Yea, no. Truck prices have gone insane over the last 5 years. I don't know who started it but paying over $50k for any truck is a waste in my book. I mean trucks costing near or over $100k is nuts! Thing is ppl pay it so it's not stopping anytime soon. I just can't justify paying that much even if I think the Ram TRX is badass and would love one, $95k is just ridiculous...ugh why can't things just be affordable for everyday ppl?
