bro you look like Mr. Clean no wonder its the cleanest mercedes in the country
@ChicagoRob27 жыл бұрын
You did it right, bro, especially washing in straight lines. I learned that trick at a Meguiars seminar years ago. They said to always wash, dry, clay, polish, etc. in straight lines. Straight lines make it very difficult to see marring marks, whereas swirls caused by circular motions can be seen from all angles.

A lot of people don't seem to realize how important proper washing/drying/waxing is to keep a car looking good. I have a 2004 Acura TL Type S with pearl white exterior and ebony leather and ash wood interior - and it still looks like new because I've always hand-washed it, and even though it is always garaged, I wax it at least twice a year (in addition to keeping the interior clean with quality leather cleaner). When I buy a new car next spring (probably an Audi RS3 or Audi S4), I'm going to have it coated with a ceramic paint protectant. On a sad note - I miss the red seat belts.

Dang... sent the tshirt straight from amazon and forgot to write a note. Glad it fits. Hopefully plan to do some vlogging in the future with mods to my E36 and a 1st generation 4Runner. Thanks for the shout out Mike!

Another tip: Never return to the top of the panel after being at the bottom of the panel (the dirtiest part of the car). You just took that dirt and returned it to the top of the panel.

Saw you heading south yesterday on I-79 at the S curves. Absolutely beautiful car to see in real life, noticed the tags after I was drooling over the car for a while. It was overcast out, and I'd say there was light rain. I was actually taken aback, thinking that you would have learned your lesson from driving in rain before, but alas, there you were... Seriously though, beautiful car man.

A final touch for cleaning wheels would be to use a waterless wash and a microfiber to go over what you may have missed. I'd also wipe the excess tire shine off the rims since those are matte wheels.
@trobbins887 жыл бұрын
You can also use a good Shop Vac and put the hose/crevice tool in the blower part of the vacuum. It gets all of the annoying drips out of the taillights, mirrors, trim, etc.
@Agnelum17 жыл бұрын
Between 4:22 - 4:33 where you go from top to bottom then go back up top, that's a big no-no. Any little bits of grit or other abrasives on the underside or lower part of the car will be picked up by the wash-mitt then may scratch the upper part of the car. Go top down, then once you reach the bottom, rinse off the mitt.
@EatMyPropwash7 жыл бұрын
Pro tip: rocker panels, bottom of bumpers, wheel wells, use a separate sponge or 1 side of the wash mitt. Rest of the car use the opposite side of the wash mitt. Wheels, use a separate sponge. Always wash the bottom 1/4 of the car last, and never ever ever go bottom to top. You're asking for trouble, ESPECIALLY on a black car.
@thomasrossi317 жыл бұрын
I take an extra step... I use the 2 bucket method also... but before I clean the mitt in the clear water bucket... I use the hose to rinse the mitt.... THEN to the clean water bucket. The reason I do this extra step... if you continue to rinse a dirty mitt in the bucket... you'll agitate the water and re contaminate the mitt... I use a full size MasterBlaster to dry the car... I have never touched paint with a towel...
@bb2status7 жыл бұрын
Every one has there own way on washing there car. But i personally start cleaning the top half of my car 1st, than work my way to the bottom half. I also use separate microfiber towels for the top and bottom half. Bottom half is always more dirty, helps prevent scratch's even more!!

I noticed your shirt.. I have a c43 and it’s awesome, all season car.. feels like a sports car in the summer and also great in the winter. The reason why I got the c43 is because it’s 4matic, opposed to the c63 which is rear wheel drive. I can’t drive it in the winter and would need a second car... C43 is underrated, really great car if you live in Canada or somewhere with 4 seasons

No matter what you do, you will always get scratch/swirl marks. Doesn’t matter if you do a touch-less wash. That’s why I get so annoyed with these Adams and Chemical guys and other detailing businesses that lie about stuff like scratch/swirl free marks with their methods and overpriced foam guns, materials, etc . Every car gets them just more visible with black cars. Best thing to do is get a clear bra or vinyl wrap installed if you want to avoid swirl marks

Like all your vids, have you ever put any thought into maybe having your "Beast" ceramic coated and at least having it covered in a hydrophobic coating so the dirt will wash off without touching it, awesome for rims too. Mike i love the fast forward parts make me lol, I think the yellow pressure washer nozzle is too aggressive you should use the white nozzle its a wider pattern and much easier on the paint, also for these cars you need a wheel cleaner sonax works great or nexzett colortec, you didn't use a wheel brush for the barrels the wheels are still way dirty,definatly not the cleanest Mercedes in the country, my car is a 2014 and way cleaner than that ;).im not criticizing just saying what i seen ,I love your car and your vids thanks for sharing

You would cringe the way I wash my car. But I have a white car. I use a silicone squeegee and then go over with a real chamois to get the small areas. I usually don't have much time anymore to spend detailing my car like I used to. Now it's about how to wash and wax the fastest way possible. Nanoskin clay mitt along with regular wash mitt. The clay mitt allows me to clay at the same time I wash. Not as good as a real claying but gets you 90% there and you can do it almost every time. I use Megs wheel brightener on the wheels. Then rinse and silicone squeegee and chamois dry. Last, go over with Megs synthetic express quick spray on wax. The beauty of this is I can wax the whole car in about 15-20 mins. The spray wax also doesn't affect rubber, plastic or glass so you can spray quick and not worry about overspray. It just wipes clean on all surfaces. When it's quick to wax like this, you'll tend to do it more often and get closer to that show car shine without spending all day. If I do have all day then I go for Zaino.
