When we want to sit and chill my daughter and I will watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It has lots of lovely singing, dancing and a happy ending for everyone ( with gorgeous Quilts and Quilt dresses).

I think the most visually beautiful movie is Pride and Prejudice with Kieira Knightly and Matthew Macfadyen. Every frame of the movie is amazingly stunning. ( well I think so) . Oh so romantic too. Love watching you. 💕

We just started All Creatures series again., probably the 5th time over the years. I love many of the movies that have been mentioned. I have Call the Midwives, I can't get through one without crying. If I need to be cheered up, I always go for Mamma Mia. 🌺❤🌺

I also love ‘Call the midwife’ and have all the series on dvd. I’m old enough to have watched the first ‘All Creatures great and small’ and I absolutely loved it but I couldn’t warm to the latest production and stopped watching after the first couple of episodes. I was tempted to buy the older series on dvd but didn’t have to as the old/original production came onto our tv, as we have a channel specifically replaying all the older tv series (including ones in black and white before colour tv.)

@@lisalife7994 Thanks Lisa, I will give it another go and watch it later on reruns perhaps. I guess when you see original actors in a series and the actors play the characters to a ‘T,’ then it’s harder to adjust to the new series. e.g. I have watched or have dvds of a lot of versions of Anne of Green Gables but for me the Canadian version I watched first starring Megan Follows, is THE one! 😅

Oh yes fantastic period series. I live in a little village in the middle of nowhere and found myself without wifi so dug out the old school dvds and the complete box set of Lark Rise to Candleford was there so I binged watched them. Fab!

The most visually beautiful movie I have ever watched is "Bright Star", the love story of Romantic poet John Keats and his muse Fanny Braune. It has simply stunning scenery, every camera shot is AMAZING! The story itself is beautiful, too!

Oh I love cozy TV! I'd recommend Grantchester (PBS I think), lots of English village vibes set in the 1950's, Downton Abby, love the Great British Bake Off on Netflix. I could watch it over and over. I know there is a Great Irish Bake Off but I can't find it.

The movie Delicious is a historical drama in 1700s France. I loved the scenery and storyline. Definitely a cozy movie. (2021)

One of my favorite movies to watch with a cup of cocoa or spiced cider, all cozy and warm is Somewhere In Time. It was made in 1980 and stars Jane Seymore (one of the most beautiful women ever born) and Christopher Reeve. You might need a tissue or two, but I love it. I must have watched it at least a couple hundred times. Most of it was filmed on Mackinac Island at the Grand Hotel here in my state of Michigan in the U.S. Cars aren't allowed on the island except emergency vehicles.

Watch From Scratch. It's fairly new, visually beautiful and also a beautiful love story. You are going to cry but its good. I love Howard's End, but Sense and Sensibility is one of my favs. Also, an oldie but goodie is Katherine Hepburn in Summertime. I love old romantic movies set in Europe.

Love the BBC’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ (6 episodes), I fall asleep to it every night (the sound drowns out hubby’s cpap machine - speaking of Hannibal Lecter😂). Love their ‘Jane Eyre’ as well. Other period dramas ‘Love and Friendship’ and ‘A Little Chaos’ both lighthearted films and of course ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘Sanditon’New work, I absolutely love ‘The Sandman’, visuals are amazing❤️✨

We watch Call the Midwives on PBS here in California. Love the show. We also was Midsomer Murders, All Creatures Great and Small. Shakespeare and Hathaway, and other British Police shows all on PBS.

Thank goodness for PBS! We have more than one public TV channel where I live and one is Weta uk that carries programs all from the UK. They're often older, not the latest up to date but I just love them and sometimes the scenery is enough.a la Midsomer County and Cornwall. And Ballykissangel is the only one I can think of based in Ireland.

Never be afraid to cut up garland! Could be nice as swag or mini wreaths on the vitrines beside hearth. With a couple of sprigs left over for mantle to refer back to :) Can always tie back into another coordinating garland or braid into wide ribbons or tattered chic fabrics. Or wire together making hooks and eye invisibly linking them back together at a whim
