Trident maples really like acidic soil and water. My friends and I have found that a ph of about 6.5 really helps the trees.

Where about are you in the world please? You do find they love Acidic soil? Please share with me as maybe the weather there different !!! Talk to me I want to learn this
@joeydupre61536 ай бұрын
@@MadamBonsai2023 My friend bought a $400.00 trident from a local bonsai nursery. Two weeks later the tree was suffering with black, curling leaves. We brought it back to the nursery, and the manager told us it was probably the water. The nursery uses water from an underground aquafer and it's about 6.4 ph. My friends water goes from 7.9 to sometimes 9 ph. The manager took the tree and nursed it back to health in a couple of weeks. My friend now has a dosing system to correct his ph. No more problems. I did some research and pine bark averages 5.5-6 ph. Akadama runs 6-6.5 ph. Lava and pumice are about neutral at about 7 ph. Ever notice how everything looks green and lush after a rainstorm. Rainwater runs 5-6.5 ph. We are located in South Louisiana, USA between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
