You can’t beat it and also just knowing very few ingredients are in it is so much better for you too! I’m definitely feeling like an autumn reset clean /sort out and the baking /wholesome dinner mode ON. Incredible that instant switch from August to September! Tis the season ! Let’s enjoy it ! Xx 🍂

My bread makers say make a “well” for the yeast because it shouldn’t touch the water until it’s starting the mixing. I just make a little hole in the middle and pour the yeast in last . It comes out round ,smooth and delicious 😋 and yes , set it for a dark crust . The house smells so good when you’re cooking bread 🍞

Hi Lydia, great first attempt of machine bread, that’s so great to try something new and homemade bread is so much better for you plus you get the lovely bread baking smell throughout the house. A few tips as I have been baking bread in and out of machine for many years now…I think your bread probably had too much liquid in it as the milk powder can’t be substituted with liquid, which would have caused the sink, I don’t use milk powder but you may want to look up other recipes to find one that suits your machine. Recipes often have a lot of sugar in them and you don’t need lots. It’s best to get it out of the tin almost immediately as the bread starts to sweat in the tin, and again let it cool before you cover it or wrap it, I just use a clean tea towel. It goes stale quickly but you will be used to that having sourdough. Ali will be able to mix pizza dough too so I’m sure he will be having a go soon enough! All the best for your bread making :)

Lydia, I love your homemaking videos and the passion you bring to them! Since January, I’ve been on a breadmaking and sourdough journey, learning that patience and practice are key. Each loaf teaches me something new, and I find joy in the experience. Recently, I started milling my own flour, as store-bought flour is processed and stripped of fiber and bran. There are many resources online about the health benefits of freshly milled flour. Oh, and your honey on fresh-made bread would be excellent! Bread knives with an offset handle allow a full cut before your hand hits the cutting surface. Look forward to seeing more of your bread making journey. Thank you for inspiring me and many others! 😊🍞

I use to have a breadmaker. It goes off quite quickly, because there are no preservatives in it. Therefore you really have to put it in a Tupperware! Also: you have to siff the flower beforehand. You can add herbs, but pref. no fresh ones, because that will add moist to the mixture. So dried rosemary etc. Focaccia is also delish to make. Good luck!

Yeast is best firstly mixed with sugar. Water best if mild warm when yeast and sugar land in it. Flour sifted is also better. And as top of the bread maker has no heat that top is never looking nor is ever baked like all other 5 sides.

Sometimes the bread machine has a hard time mixing the ingredients evenly, which can cause the collapsed center, dry bits, etc. So you could premix the ingredients: the wets and all the dried separate and them add them to your machine. (this is only if your machine continues to give you an uneven mix.)
@jojodesrosiers8096Ай бұрын
As I’m watching your vlog eating my Michigan cherry walnut toast. Bread makers were very popular in the US years ago. My cleaning lady now owns it. We have so many good bread stores that it easier to buy. However, I know the feeling you’re experiencing. Nothing like the smell and taste. I just watched one of your videos from 4 years ago. I must compliment you on how much you’ve evolved. Love your new style. Jojo
