Welsh rugby has generated a lot of money over the years and relied on 4 regions to bring in talent. Rugby in Wales isn't as popular amongst the public as it once was i hope it doesn’t get as bad as Oz. The money should be put towards expanding the Welsh teams in towns so people can reconnect with the game in their area. I'm sure people would love to see their local pro team rather than travelling to support an area that they're not from and it would encourage more locals to want to strive towards representing as a pro for the area that they're from. Just my opinion as I think wales originally grew that way before the regions came in. We definitely need more teams and competition for the National team. Plus also think its not gatlands fault hes a great coach thats done a lot with what hes got in the wru.

Strange interview with gatlands jovial attitude. I think he’s had a guts full of the WRU whose decisions have got us into this mess in the first place. The caliber of players available for selection in Wales are not even close to the top 10 international sides. That has nothing to do with the coach.

leave gats there. wales dont have the cattle at the moment. they lost a lots of experience and talent last year. wales talent pool is realatively small. so it will take time for the younger guys to come on. its little by little to turn it around with whoever they have as a coach.

I really have no idea why Gats took on the job of coaching Wales. The problem isn't the quality of the players nor the coach. The entire structure of Welsh rugby needs complete review. When schoolboy players in Wales are moving to schools in England to get noticed then there's obviously something wrong with the progression system in Wales. And the retention systems within the game in Wales are virtually non existent. As a kiwi of 60y the games against Wales were up there with the best. Such a shame

the solution is simple as there is not enough money in the Welsh game Split wales into 2 regional - East and west East wales - play one game in Newport , one game Cardiff , one game Wrexham , one in the middle - Shrewsbury I know is England but has a stadium of a good size. West wales. Plays Swansea Llanelli Aberystwyth and Bangor (or colwyn bay). More likely to get bigger crowds Teams will be better but key point Join the English premiership Games against bath , Bristol , Gloucester , sale.., will be Derby’s. Alpt cheaper than flying to j’berg!

I have always thought gatland has made questionable or "brave" coaching decisions. As well as the loss of Shaun Edwards being incredibly noticeable if not borderline traumatic. Regardless, Warren Gatland should be remembered as one of the greatest coaches for Welsh rugby and for rugby as a sport. It's a team game at the end of the day

The Boks have beaten the ABs four times consecutively. Bitta perspective fer yous . Thing is, Welsh warriors won't shed a tear or feel fear. Yeh, they'll get a tuning, but I remember a game in Albany NZ where the Boks lost 57-0. All teams experience hard-times. It's only weak charactered supporters that buckle, rant, whinge ans behave as soccer supporters.

Super sad to think that Gatlands Welsh team was the number 1 team in the world in the 2019 world cup, the springboks just clinched that game it was so tight in that semis, i actually believe they wouldve won that world cup beating England in the Final of thet beat the springboks in the semis.❤

A side in transition and development but the same problem remains Wales are lightweight in international rugby terms and don't have the individuals of the past to offset this lack of physicality. The Boks have a huge imposing pack so another demoralising defeat is more than likely next week. The Welsh regions are also second tier so the traditional production line of talent is just not there Could be on a 17 game losing streak at the end of the six nations!

To me it feels like Warren Gatland's approach to coaching during matches is not importend To me my observations about his demeanor and the lack of visible intensity in the coach's box are valid concerns, especially when compared to other coaching teams who are more actively engaged. Maybe some coaches, like Gatland, prefer a more composed, observational role during games, focusing on analyzing patterns and making calculated decisions rather than constant interaction. However, this approach can sometimes be misconstrued as disinterest or lack of passion. If the team's performance isn’t matching expectations, it’s fair to question if this coaching style aligns with what the players need. I think a more hands-on and visibly intense coach would make a difference for the team. Currently it does not look like that.
