I'm 🎉happy for you Jesse. I garden in Lithgow Australia . After 10 years, am still digging up coal chunks. I have lots of harvests that are great for my little family, but lots of disappointments with healthy plants that are bitter. ( i like it anyway, but it doesnt a😢ways work with kids)

Woo you won’t be disappointed with the snaps you’ve got Jess. By the sounds of it they’ll be the Chantilly light salmon or Double shot peach. Light Salmon tends to be more apricot and pink, and Double Shot Peach is more of a yellow/apricot. Hopefully that’ll narrow it down a bit 😄 💚

Always impressed by the way you pick a few tasty morsels and cook a tasty lunch for you and your mum . I assemble a sandwich for me and wifely bobbles (Stanley Unwins secret lovechild ! )but aspire to be more ambitious hence my repeated attempts at growing Cima de rapa but I only have to look at it the buddy stuff the wrong way and it bolts , usually at about 4"high . Any ideas Jess ? Incidentally, this year it had no checks in growth . Steady watering etc.

I have spent this season silently commiserating with you on the critter damage. I garden on property that’s a 45min drive-so I don’t get there every day. But even going every other day I have been coming back to every single bed being destroyed every single trip! So I “replant” everything with my boot 😜🥾Needless to say the plants aren’t thriving! We have fox, armadillos, raccoons, opossums, skunk-that all can go under the fence. We have found black bear scat outside the fence, sniffing around the melons. There is a part of me that just wants the season the end and another part wants to “win” the battle!! 👨🏼‍🌾💪🏼

And the constant replanting battling with the little creatures of destruction!! I keep getting squirrels jumping in the raised beds that are 2 feet tall. They dig down right next to the stalks about 4-5 inches deep???? WTF are they doing?? Grrrrrrrrrrrrr I do admire your determination in the midst of the adverse conditions. Take care, Steven

Could the Antirrhinum have been “Mango Twist”, sounds similar to the variety I have growing this year. Greenhouse is looking brilliant. I love the warmth in the undercover spaces, especially as we are heading in to the colder months ❤❤

It appears that your floor in the greenhouse is working out magnificently! Coriander is very easy to collect seed from and the bees (and I) love the flowers. I leave a plant or two to self-seed and have not bought seed in years.

Hello Jessie and Jessie's mom. Here in Nova Scotia, Canada we don't have foxes or badgers. But we do have deer groundhogs and rabbits. I ferment garlic and hot pepper flakes each for a few days and spray it round my garden including the paths. It works a charm and the good Lord.wil charm. It really stinks but humans cannot smell it after a few hours. Keep up the good fight

Thank you Jessie for mentioning CRIMSON BLUSH blight resistant tomato. I have had good success with them this year. A tiny touch of bight has just started to appear and I wasn't sure what "blight resistant " actually meant until watching you today. Hi Jess and Mum. Happy Birthday by the way ;) . Mine is in two days time, which means Mum is a Christmas cracker and I am a New years one ;). I really hope that you can get some of the rebel star fighter, I took seeds from the ones which survived the freeland blight wave. They really take time, but are delicious on sandwiches or else raw, just be pacient. I love your cooking suggestions, loved even more that you had my favourite pasta (I use them especially with my Letschostyle soup/pasta sauce).

At least the foxes have gone. We don’t have badgers in my neck of the woods but we do have funny looking creatures called armadillos that I saw looking around the yard one evening. I don’t know if I’d want to go through life wearing armor. Anywho, all my brassica seedlings got attacked by tiny worms some yet to be transplanted looked like skeletons. Grr! 😠. Funny your video got posted here at the usual time on Tuesday so…. Resowing more onion seeds that came in the mail hope these will do better than the last batch. You have foxes I have deer eating a lot of our greens, lost our chard, sprouting broccoli, beet tops and a few others. If you are still looking for something to hold on your netting on your new covers look for PVC U clips I have and will be using them on the covers I will have to put on my garden beds.

Jessie, no need to apologise, forgetting things comes with age😉 The beds with the steel mesh over, why don’t you screw some cup hooks around the edges and then you can use coated wire to tie them down with, same wire can be used at the top of the ends, (personally I would like to set some bear traps but alas….). It is so disheartening when day after day things like that keep happening. I can only admire you and your mom for staying upbeat and bouncing back.

Ahh what an awful lot you have to put up with! Have you considered putting a night camera in to spy on who's doing what and where? I tried this just last week and the stupid thing caught my cat but not anything digging up the broccoli!! I definitely feel the wildlife are organised 🤔 (like in Chicken run... or fantastic Mr fox!)
