I read The Secret Garden and The little Princess when I was about 11 I think, 2 of my favorite books ever, as well as the Little House on the Prairie books. I really like to visit bookstores too, and especially ones that have a used book collection! I made myself some earl grey tea while watching, and I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about some of the books you picked up. I also didn't know that Ray Bradbury had written so much more than just Fahrenheit 451, that book was so ever-present in my school days haha. Maybe I'll get to visit Powell's one day, it looks cool! I've been to The Strand in New York before, so I recommend that new/used bookstore to anyone in the area :)

My sophomore year language arts teacher was obsessed with Bradbury so he used a lot of his work for his curriculum. I now think of that teacher anytime someone mentions Bradbury. Also, my mom made me read The Secret Garden when I was younger and I loved it. That copy is stunning! ❤

Drinking chocolatey chai while I watch today! And I grew up with my parents reading Strega Nona to me too. They even somehow managed to get a copy signed by Tomie dePaola for little baby me, which I still have :') that story was definitely formative to my love of pasta haha! And I think you will just love The Secret Garden, it's magical, and that copy is beautiful. I am going to the library today where The Graveyard Book is waiting for me on hold :) very excited to have some fall reading.

I’ve been reading Strega Nona to my students for years. I teach first grade. Mary Steenburgen also does a wonderful reading of it on StorylineOnline website. Tomis DePaola is my all-time favorite children’s illustrator and I actually got to meet him at a reading conference many years ago. It was such a thrill! 😊❤️📚

Frankenstein has been one of my favourite books for 10 years now, I read it in College (uk) and LOVED the beautiful poetic language. @@MorganLong No, no, Morgan. Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 version of Rebecca is one of the greatest romance/mystery films ever made. It's a marvel of filmmaking skill and Joan Fontaine's performance alone is amazing. No other version of the story has come close. And you should easily be able to find it online.
