AUTUMNAL WEAVES | Vertical Stripes, Beading, Wrapping Textile Techniques | Didsbury Art Studio
Ever wanted to just limit the colours of your wools to create a mood or a season...I decided to do an Autumnal weave. Included in this are a mixture of wools, beads, felt and fabrics. I have used vertical stripes, rya loops knots, wraps and braiding.

What do you work as?
After doing my Textiles degree I did my PGCE training in London to become an Art and Design Secondary School Teacher. Currently, I work in a hospital teaching Art part-time to 16-18 year olds. In addition, also teach art in my studio on Saturdays and I offer textile workshops to schools. I set up this channel in April 2020 after being furloughed during Lockdown but soon realised I really enjoyed designing, creating projects, filming and editing videos.

LOVE this inspiring series! Germans call that artist state of flow, where time flies, "Arbeitglück" which translates to "work happiness".

Love the wrapping and the bunching tied fabric. Also the rope is pretty cool addition. Sooo glad you are enjoying what your doing! creative moments that I enjoy seem to really get the juices flowing. Hi Julia every time I change the textile technique I really get into it and think I'll stick with that for a bit...then along comes another idea/technique and I've changed my mind again!!
