Ingredients:
How to make Aval Vilayichathu
Matta rice flakes - 1/2 kg
Jaggery - 3/4 kg
Grated Coconut - 6 Cups
Water - 3/4 Cup
Cardamon powder - 11/2 tsp
Ghee - 3 tbs
Cashew nuts - 50 gm
Pottukadala / Porikadalai( Futana ) - 1/2 Cup
Sesame Seeds - 1/4 Cup

Never knew this is so easy.Love this recipe. Thanks maam you r a wonderful teacher and cook. There is a similar manglorean recipe called 'bajil'. It is both sweet and spicy. They use first seasoning of mustard crushed ted chillies, curry leaves after the stove is off add scrapped jaggery mixed with warm ghee (not hot so that the scraped jaggery does not melt)and then ad coconut scrappings, mix them well and add white thin aval(not thick) and mix well. Similar to how you kept it pressed keep the same way. It is best tasted the next day. My mouth is salivating😋
