I have wanted a pixie cut for about 4 or 5 years, ever since i was 10 or 11. I wanted one so bad back then and I researched so much and learned about what hair would look best with my super circular face and I was really ready to get it cut. I asked my mom over the entire summer if I could get it cut because I wanted to get used to it before school started and she would keep telling me that its a hard style to maintain and that she had one when she was a teen and it took forever to grow out. I didnt care and kept saying I wanted it cut and then one day she straight up said I would look ugly. It really shocked me when she said that because she had never said anything like that to me before. Now over the past few years I have some time periods where I obsess over looking at short hair cuts and research and I annoy my friends with worried questions about how I would look with certain styles but im too scared to actually get it cut. Last night I almost cut off all my hair with some kitchen scissors so I would have to get a pixie cut but thankfully I didn't. I think its time for me to actually go through with a pixie cut, even if I look bad with it. I never style my long hair because its too much so its ALWAYS in a ponytail so I think short hair will be a good choice for me. Anyway I have come back to this video like 10000 times since you have uploaded it and it has really help me make this decision. (Oof this was just a long rant sorry)

Did you ever get your pixie? Mother's can be so judgemental but they usually do it out of love and concern. My mother hates short hair on herself and always has long hair. She never likes it when I cut my hair short. She won't like it at all when I get my pixie tomorrow but it's my hair and it grows back. I always grow it and then cut it only to grow it again. I love change.

I have very round face 😀😀. I decided to get a pixie 2 weeks ago. My face actually looks slimmer ( which is opposite of what ppl warned me). The haircut actually spread ppl’s attention to your neck, your smile and all other features instead of focusing on the face shape. Have received many compliments!! Cons: - I spend extra 10’ every morning to style my hair with hair clay. - Wash my hair everyday. If your hairstyle doesn’t need wax/gel/clay/.. then it s not a problem

I hate my long hair and really just want to chop it all off! I have a round face, and I'm overweight so the main reason I'm scared is because I feel it won't suit me. Saying that however, I've never styled my hair while it's long, all I ever do is tie it up as I work over a desk and I feel it's more practical. I understand all your concerns, being nervous it totally normal! I find that parents and grandparents are often emotionally connected to your hair, especially the hairstyles you had as a young child. But try to focus on what you truly want 💕

Kate Emily did you cut your hairs? It will be fine. You want a short style that add height to the crown if you’re worrying about round face. If you don’t style your long hairs,it just hang there. Obviously you’re not happy with it since you tie it up often. If you’re not happy with the short cut you can always grow it out.😄

I got a pixie several months back and yesterday got it trimmed. I LOVE it! It's so easy to manage and the upkeep is worth it. My husband thought he wouldn't like it, but he loves it too and thinks it makes me look like a badass 🙃 He even let me know when he thought it was getting too long.

I'm considered a pixie cut, I have been for months now. My hair is thinning due to hashimoto's syndrome. Being a woman with alopecia is very depressing. Last week I had my hair chopped into a pixie. Cut off about 10-12 inches in total. I'm still watching videos about pixies because I'm looking at all the ways to style pixie cuts. Before I saw the new hairdresser (I sought out a master stylist), I had loads of inspiration photos on my phone. Anyway, the reason I'm writing is that your suggestion to wear something that makes you feel pretty is a good one. Because I knew the pixie would be a huge transformation cut, the day of my appointment I put on a little makeup and a nice dress. It made a huge difference. When I walked out of the salon I felt like a new person, fresh and spritely. All good recommendations for those seeking to make the big chop.

My hair is super fine which is a trouble, as it never holds curl when styling but if i do permanent curling it would hold..too much curl. But yesterday i finally found a stylist who gave me perm just light enough to create big wave on my pixie bang and lift it up without making it super curly, just exactly how i wanted it to be (my fear is finally gone). Things to think about: upkeep. Cow licks. May have to wet hair daily. Bangs in face. Upkeep. Upkeep. Upkeep. Looking bad in photos years later noticing lack of upkeep. Regrowth time. Back acne or dirty ears will not be hidden. You may miss option to do something different with your hair. You may have to try harder to feel /present self as feminine.

This video really helped me to work out why I wanted a pixie, what I wanted out of the styles I liked and my stylist was so pleased that I'd gone with a list and talked to him about everything rather than just showing him pictures only. I changed hair styles every few months,sometimes monthly. You will be happy with the new short cut if you’re easygoing ,flexible,don’t mind changes. I had hair chin length to past shoulder to waist length to pixie even a boy haircuts (shaved sides and back slightly long side bangs). That’s what so fun about hairs,it grow ..so you can change back or to a different hairstyle. It’s more fun with shorter hairs,much faster to dry and style. You can colored your hairs as often as you cut without worrying about damaging your hairs. I like long hairs too but short hairstyles give me more confidence.

I think go progressively shorter is the way to go if unsure. Long bob, shorter bob then pixie. So if you don't like it shorter, then it's not such a long haul to get to the previous stage that you preferred.

Let me tell a story. One night my mom said that my hair is messy and told me to tie it up. After tieing it I asked my mom if I could cut my hair and ofcourse mom said 'NO'. I asked so many time and she shout at me that I was a girl and I should have long hair. (At that time my hair was 2-3 inches down my shoulder). I kept asking her but she said no again and again. After so much try she said you can cut it up to shoulder I was sooo happy. my mom said don't waste that hair we should donate it to cancer patients. I also thought it was a good idea. So we told this matter to my uncle who is working at mvr cancer center. He asked the employees they said hair should be 17 inches bu my hair was only 12 inches. So they told to grow my hair. And weeks passed by I used many hair oil and shampoo for making it grow and my hair grew from12 to 15. By the way my hair is curly if I straight it, it will be like 17 or 18. So I am waiting for my hair to grow two inches. After my hair grow I will cut it up to my ear. But I know that will not look good on me so I decided to get a boy cut and I figured out I should get a pixie cut so I will tell my parents about it and if I get it I will tell you guys. But try to not let your acne or not being interested in makeup keep you from doing something you really want to do! I believe anyone can rock a pixie no matter their size! Ive seen lots of beautiful women of different sizes look beautiful with a pixie cut! A great hair stylist will work with your face shape and features to figure out what exact cut is best :) Do whatever makes you feel most confident and happy!

I got my middle back hair cut similar to yours a few days ago & I absolutely regret it. I HATE my hair in my face and the long front does exactly that. I am constantly pushing the hair off of my face. IDK I just wish that I hadn't done it. I'm 70 & my daughter & husband said that the long hair aged me. I'm seeing my stylist in a couple of days & literally don't know what I want her to do with this mop. Shave my head? IDK

Once you get a pixie cut, do you need a stylist with experience to do the trims or do you think any stylist can trim it?

I get the back trimmed by any stylist at my salon (almost all stylists have experience with men’s cuts and the neck trims are pretty much the same). But for actual trims of the whole head, I only go to my stylist.

My hairdresser is an expert for short hair hair extensions waxing blonde color correction and more she cut my hair ones before so she knows my face shape glasses body type and hair texture I have ideas for her all show them then tell her to pick what ever do her thing June 11 is mine im excited and nervous lol the last cut she did for me was a asymptomatically pixie bob this time going for pixie or long pixie and deal with my side shave that'd way over grown and undercut normally the bf fixes it but I been leaving it so if she wanted to work with it lol 😂

Really be sure that a pixie cut is what you want. Don't say it's only hair and it grows. A pixie takes FOREVER to grow out. I regret mine. Growing it back out and it is taking forever.

I told my mom I wanted a pixie cut and I said if tell you something will you not think im crazy she said ok and GUESS WHAT She thinks i'm CRAZY you guessed it! I told her I looked at pictures watched videos like Pros and Cons getting a pixie cut, Watch this before you get a pixie cut,this video and more and she said to think about it more I told her just because you have long hair and you would not want a pixie cut and would be scared to get one does not mean that is the same for me.
