I shoot AR and ak, but even after 11 year's of 7 different AR builds, lately all I wanna shoot is my akm. It's so awesome to be good with a rifle like that, especially when I shoot with guys that struggle to hit targets at 100 yards with Gucci builds and I'm using irons. I love rewatching this video right before I go out, it just goes with a good cup of coffee...

I pretty impressed by the VSKA. I have some mid tier AKM/Ak’s but I find myself using the VSKA a lot. I bought it new in 21 or 22, I can’t remember. I know the early production ones apparently had some issues as do some firearms but it’s been pretty dependable so far. I’m at just over 1500 rounds and the only issue I’ve had is with some MagPul mags. All the steel mags and US Palm mags (especially the metal reinforced versions) have worked great. I have yet to take a class with it and haven’t run it hard as I’m still getting used to doing mag changes and racking at a proficient speed and rhythm. I’m like most who have come from the “AR world” and got bored with the easiness of use. I even put one of my colts back to factory carry handle, factory handguards and factory waffle stock and I enjoy it more now. Something about the simplicity of stock setup on an Akm/Ak pattern rifle is just nice. I have seen videos and read about the normal bashing of the VSKA and I’ve seen videos and read about them running fine. I took a chance and it’s turned out fine so far bi check the head space with go/no-go gauges and it hasn’t changed. Some minor normal wear on the typical areas and minor mushroom-ing on the bolt carrier tail. Not out of the ordinary. I’ll continue to be diligent with maintenance and cleaning and every 200 rounds or so, I’ll recheck head space and the barrel pin.

Very nice. I like thunder ranch. What I don‘t understand is that always unload guns. Try to take „The Way of the rifle“ at tactical response.

I definitely want to get better with the platform. My biggest hurdle is being quicker using iron sights. I used to only use iron sights and then when red dots grew in popularity, I switched over to that. It’s crazy how bad I am at using them now.

I remember learning how to shoot with my grandpa's AK when I was 14 years and it was a he'll of fun when he past the hole family whent to the range and had a full day of fun for him with it and yes he was a marine I'm now 40 years old and miss him dearly.

Robert, I miss mine as well, man. He was Army Infantry, WW2, PH. He only ever fired a gun after the war one time, to shoot a neighbors dog (this was out in the country) tearing up his trash. I don't think he thought he would hit him, but I guess he surprised himself. He talked about it years later as one of his biggest regrets.

I’m sorry to hear about him passing, but I’m glad you have those found memories with him. Good for him for teaching you all how to shoot. He sounds like a smart man.

The only time he yelled at me he jokingly said “come on your f*cking influencer.” I died laughing. Clint and Jack, the other instructor, definitely made the class entertaining. It was of course very educational though.
