This is a song about the NKVD (People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs; later known as KGB), how they sentenced millions to be executed or sent to Siberia to labour camps. "Bloody angel" is a NKVD officer who just approoved one death of an innocent human being after another. And the frontman of Avatar embodies the demon who haunts him in his dreams - until the officer himselfs becomes a victim of the murderous regime. If you're interested in that kind of heavy topics and consider to listen non-English bands singing in their mother languages, please check out MOTANKA - VERBA. This is a Ukrainian band and the song is about Holodomor (men-made starvation of Ukrainians in 1932-1933 where approximated 4 to 7 million people died because of forced starvation). Who survived and still had the will power to fight against the USSR was later executed by NKVD in 1937. Keep with the good work, bro! This is the greatest metal band today imo. And I’d say Johannes is objectively the best vocalist in metal. The reason I say this is because of what he can do with his voice. His range is insane. His false chords and fry screams can match anyone, his low register cuts through and he can get up to levels of Brian Johnson. Not only is his range extremely large, but he can mold and adapt his tone to the song to fit the character. There’s hardly two songs where he sounds exactly the same. Avatar is King.

First song I heard by this band, and I've been a huge fan since. The song itself is about a Nazi officer feeling shame and guilt over his part being in charge of a concentration camp, and decides to take his own life. Unique, melodic, crushing, and a flare for the cinematic in their delivery in their videos, and in their music. I'm going to hopefully see them later this year.

@@zachruby270 Yeah i saw them last october when they joined up with trivium...blew the roof off the place ...super nice guys...they wound up hanging out with fans after the show for like 3 hours, taking pics, signing stuff, and just talking...on the otherhand, i had gotten a vip ticket, so i met trivium before the show...literally was a 30 second "meet and greet" pic and a half hearted hey ( paid 200 bucks for that shit) and i walked out halfway through their set...matts voice is completely blown for live performances
