Picked up Avatar Frontiers of Pandora on PS5 and man the graphics are absolutely stunning! It’s the first game since Horizon Forbidden West that has blown me, the world of Pandora is so lush, the natural environment, lighting is top notch. Flying around on the Ikran is a treat, Far Cry Primal is one of my all time favorite games and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora captures the vibe of that game perfectly. 😊

Looks cool .. I would have loved it if the game had as many traversal mechanics as Dying Light 2... Rope swings, monkey bars, Leaning bars, boost jumps etc. Some more fleshed out melee combat and stealth takedowns etc would also not go amiss, even if it does make it even more like Far Cry

I like this game but the characters were difficult to care about because they never fight along side you (Not once) and you aren't around them long enough. This made the story difficult to get into. And its like cyberpunk where the hole game is FPS and in that game you are constantly around different NPCs. This is why Johnny exists in that game. Its someone there to keep you invested in the story. Or cortana in Halo, you rarely see master chief and no other characters around you for long. When she wasn't with you in Halo 3, they added arbiter. Avatar should have either have cutscenes with your character in them or have someone there along side you throughout a percentage of the game. It mite have a great world, systems and mechanics but a game based on Pandora needs a good story. For that I personally think an 8 is generous. More like 6 or 7.

I like the Avatar movies, I just dislike the way "colonialism" is framed by some people. Migration and the colonizing of new lands have been ubiquitous throughout human history. People have always moved around and into areas that often put them into conflict with other human groups. I think we can all agree that invasion and destruction of other people's cultures and ways of life are not good things. This is something we should all be able to find agreement over and work to stop these kinds of things from happening in the future. Instead, some people want to focus on one narrow slice of human history and demonize one group of people, while making everyone else out to be victims. People who understand the human past (my area of expertise is archeogenetics) know that this is a horrible distortion.

I genuinely just don't like the style of character, the characters themselves, planet environment, storyline and dialogue. Jimmy might've created a whole world for his attempt at an endless money machine franchise by aiming for lowest common denominator easily digestible story made of derivative bits and pieces but that doesn't mean everyone is going to like it. I don like most of the Sidney or Pixar movies of the last ten years either 🤷‍♂️.

The enviroment is the star here and yet suprisingly the way you move around it is new and plentyfull. flying around on your icran or exploring on foot are both realy fun to do. it has its faults, all games do but what it does right far outweigh what they do wroung.

The IGN review i seen prior to this one, and that man with accent does a good job, but clearly hasn't any vision or affinity for the quintessence of Avatar. This is about life, this very beautiful experience that has been neglected today and where persons have become superficial and disconnected with their Divinity. Entertainment is the center of persons today and business is the heart of our planet. Gamespots perspective here on Avatar is much more true to heart than the IGN guy who hadn't realized the Divine spark within him self yet thus merely see's only generic of it all. It, too, is up to the player, to see beyond the superficial and realize what really is. You cannot teach anybody to see. If you expect games to 'do it all for you' or 'the government will take care of it', or 'can you take a leak for me bro'... ubisoft only ever makes 'good' solid games, but with you realization and ability of understanding, imagination, gratitude, realization, this game can be a better experience than the superficial one that ign made it out to be. I am going to get my pre order physical copy tomorrow. I too just watch the 2 avatar films in 4k and it real unlike the mechanical and robot world we live in today.

The game is frustrating me. The reason is the guidance and compass moves and doesnt always point north so how are you going to give me directions on a map when your compass moves around. Example go south west of home tree and north of river . But the compass on map moves around so you dont know where north and south is on this map

Did you guys watch the video? When you’re around humans or in human bases it’s obvious the player character towers over them in correct scale. When you’re just out in the forest around other Na’vi you obviously won’t feel that scale.

I've seen it getting very average reviews. The foliage tech impresses - but after that, reviews have slammed it for being derivative and bog-standard fare; generic Far Cry gameplay, albeit in an Avatar skin. Crafting, recipes, base clearing - just like pretty much every other title of this ilk. Not for me.
