One of the reasons I love Avatar is the fact they do not seem to take themselves too seriously, especially as demonstrated by the album Avatar Country. Their music being unique, diverse, and overall amazing helps significantly too.

I feel so dumb. I have been a diehard metal fan for 20+ years and never gave these guys a second thought. Heard the name a few times, but never looked into them. I'm ashamed of myself. On another note. I have my favorite bands, Metallica, Breaking Benjamin, Dream Theater, Lamb of God, etc. and they've been my favorites for years. I never even considered the possibility that a band could come along and unseat those bands. But only after a week of listening to Avatar, I think this might be my favorite band of all time. Is that weird?

Never heard of this band until I saw them 2 days ago at Masters Of Rock and man was I blown away with the music, professionalism and showmanship. A new favorite band for me, that singer has combined styles from several frontmen to create a very energetic and sinister character. I really like it.

God in a casket = A Nietzschian theme of 'God is dead'. Duality of man, the Shadow self displayed in the video. Very cool. This song is very good, as are many of Avatar's songs. I'm enjoying 'Silence in the age of Apes' seeing as Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari inspired it.

I discovered this guys in the most random way: Amon Amarth is my favourite band, and they asked on twitter to help with some "best band awards" where they had been nominated to best drummer or something like that. So I went to the voting site and sarted to vote on every category there was, and under "most promising band", there was a picture of this guys. Their styling definitely catched my eye so I searched for them on KZbin and Hail the Apocalypse and The Eagle has Landed came up. I've been hooked forever since. I had the chance to see them perform live at Resurrection Fest and it was one hell of a show, a night to remember.
