It’s heartbreaking and angering. Yet commencements of 9/11 are respected but they are merely performative because those Heroes who got typical illnesses after being exposed to the 9/11 chemicals are neglected and not given proper health care and financial support.

His friggen doctor should be BANNED from practicing medicine! If her house catches on FIRE, she better HOPE the firemen put it out, versus asking her, "So, what happened? Did you forget to turn off your stove? Ya job got you SO stressed, you were smoking again?" while watching her house BURN. 😠 Niels, thank you for your service! You're a GOOD man! Everyone involved with 9/11 deserves to have their medical care paid for the duration of their lives and the lives of their families members affected. They sacrificed their health to help others. It’s the bare minimum of what the government should do for these people. Thank you for your service. I’m an RN in NY and have cared for many first responders with health issues tied to 9/11. It always broke my heart to see how your heroics were forgotten. I am myself now disabled since working in the pandemic and now having “long covid” that’s destroyed my heart. Last summer my husband took me to a concert and we met this gentleman who is a disabled firefighter due to 9/11 and when he heard my story he just hugged me and then bought me a beer and said that he could understand how I felt. It was the first time I broke down in public. I don’t feel I deserve the honor of being placed in the same category as all of you who ran towards those buildings but I will forever be honored. I pray you remain in remission and are able to get your health back.

Real doctors and nurses are heros for serving during the "pandemic". The reality is they are the most vulnerable during an event like that, they are the ones giving care, compassion, and help to those sick and dying from it, face to face. A mask of cloth was no match and never has been for a microscopic airborne disease. Based on the research niether was the shot. So thank you for showing up, doing what needed to be done. I always feel sick what we did to our first responders after 9/11. They needed the care, it was crystal clear that area was a toxic mess after the Towers collapsed. The buildings were filled with asbestos as it is and the first responders were given nothing more than regular dust masks that in a summer heat and constantly digging gets stuffy, sweaty and uncomfortable. People got sick quick! This was just NYC’s way to try and quickly get the city re-open and not lose business. I worked five 9/11 funerals for those who died from the toxic dust, four FDNY members and one NYPD detective (I even told my boss at the time I don’t care about getting paid to work these funerals, these men deserve respect and our city turned their back on them). Now many years after, the city had the nerve to say they were willing to tell the truth about the health affects from the WTC Site but under the condition nobody can sue the city. That pretty much confirms what everyone suspects, that there were worse health effects that were on the site. And it is not just first responders that got sick, everyone in and around that region south of Canal Street on and after 9/11 have gotten sick and died!

Tell me about it. I’m a very weird age, I was born in ‘98. So I’m a Gen Z, but not really. I’m certainly more millennial, so is everyone my year and earlier, because 9/11 exists AFTER our memory wipe. In fact, for most people born in ‘98, 9/11 is the memory wipe. The first memory. Maybe you’re lucky and you kept something from just before, but for me and everyone else my age, 9/11 is our first memory. I remember my mother crying. I remember being late for school, then not going at all. I remember being with her watching the news. I remember calling her friend, a financier who worked on the 82nd floor of the south tower, and the line dropping when the second plane hit. But my wife was born ON 9/11 proper. And her story is so sad, because you’re right. Her peers had no concept of it because it was “triggering” or whatever. So she’s never had a birthday. The elders only talk about the attacks, her peers turn their brains off every year on that day. Sucks. I’ve tried hard to make 9/11 her day instead of about 9/11.

I still remember looking to my side and seeing the shock and horror on the faces of our teachers after that second plane hit, If they could have screamed they would have because they had their mouths shut. We literally watched people die on live TV, today’s generation would be going into a fetal position if they witnessed something similar. We lost plenty of firefighters and individuals in our neighborhood. It was a bad time in general and the rest I would rather not talk about because I get not only upset, but very angry.

My story of 9/11 is basically the same account. I’ll never forever my mom coming to get us out of school and her crying the whole way home. Still pisses me off to this day. To the younger generation, you can’t explain the feeling until you see it happen and it’s hits a different nerve. To all the people who say we should turn the page on 9/11, I say no. There’s still people that wanna do it again. And they wanna kill you too.

My great grandfather was a WWII veteran he went to basic at fort McClellan, he was on Omaha beach with the 29 infantry division, after 9/11 he said the only people as brave as the men we hit the beach with are the ones who went into those towers they're true heroes, he was a very proud American and after 9/11 he realized that what they did over there wasn't for nothing, it was to keep this country free because so many people are dieing to take that freedom.

I watch alot of 9/11 documentaries, or just anything in general. This has me panting. I fought and went in to remission against a form of leukemia 3 years ago. Just hearing him talk about this brings back so much trauma. Like when he says "6 doctors walked in and you usually only see 1 or 2" my anxiety went from 20 to 1000. My heart started racing and I had to pause the video. It's almost impossible to describe what I'm feeling. I had no idea I had this trauma. God bless this man.

Your story is heartbreaking. Sadly, one story out of THOUSANDS! Thank God you’re a cancer survivor and you finally got good care & compassion, however, you are still very much another victim of 9/11. More & more souls are dying of cancer and all kinds of ailments, and far too young. They’re ALL victims of 9/11, even though they didn’t die on that horrific day. Will keep you in my thoughts, remember your story, your family and how much you’ve sacrificed for the freedoms we Americans take for granted all too often. God bless you >3 Tally Ho!

Not my school, we had students with family in both towers so they waited to call them down one by one to send them home. A lot from Cantor Fitzgerald. Went home and popped a tape into the VCR. By the end of the day, Afghanistan was in the cross hairs on the nightly news. But the thing I'll never forget was as Mayor Giuliani's first press conference was commencing a reporter yelled out a question: Mayor can you give up an update about the 5 men in a van arrested on the GW bridge?? That man was shushed by the press core. Look up that van's vinyl with the towers burning. Not Radical Muslims those that are interested.

I was only 11 when this happened but I still remember it vividly. I live in the UK and I was staying at my grandparents as my dad, his then girlfriend and my little sister (age 1) were on a flight to JFK. They were on route during this incident. Even at 11 years old, I got that this was big. My grandparents were terrified for my Dad and were watching it unfold on the BBC. My Dad later told us that their pilot was told to basically get landed ASAP and US Airspace is a no fly zone. That was all they were told. Nothing more. The captain of the plane only found out the details because there was a radio enthusiast onboard and once they landed in Halifax, Canada, he got out his radio from in hand luggage and tuned into what was happening. A few days later, they managed to get their connection to Florida and they visited Disneyland, which was affectively empty due to the current situation. He said it was a very strange experience. Not only that, but my cousin lived in NY at the time and wasn't actually that far from ground zero.

First thing, Thank you Sir for your life that you have shared towards loving and protecting the people who never knew you. As for the medical aspects, my wife is a cancer survivor, mismanaged radiation treatment and neglect survivor, and is presently recovering from approximately her 7th surgery in 12 years to keep her rotted bones in place to allow her some form of existence with the body parts that still work and pain control. We have experienced the angels in the medical world and also the persons who I could have crushed their sculls due to horrific isensitive attitudes and behavior. It takes prayer and re-forgivness since I also need forgivness and so that we can have a life at all. Thank you to all of those tired and stressed medical angels who cared for Niels Jorgensen and my wife. No amount of thanks is enough to explain the peace and comfort you all give the patients and the families when you yourself are worn out and when we are at our most vulnerable and weakened condition.

Medical care in the US is a joke. I will *never* be able to understand how you can tolerate this system. I'm from Europe and lived in the US for a while. When I was there, an American friend of mine was turned away from the hospital when he had leukemia because he didn't have insurance. His family had to start a Go Fund Me for him, and the money turned up being used for his funeral. Now Im not saying Zach could have been cured because leukemia is tough as hell, but how can hospitals and doctors turn patients away because they're broke even though they have the means to help them ?? *How ??* My American friends, *how can you tolerate this ??* What the hell is going on ??? Best of luck to the gentleman in the video. He deserves his country to show up for him as much as he showed up for his country in time of need. "Thoughts and prayers" ain't gonna cut it.

Healthcare should be a fundamental right in any country that is developed. To force your citizens to either become extremely poor or die is sickening. That's what happens when you privatize healthcare, like anything that's privatized it becomes solely about the money and not about the customer. No coincidence a lot of politicians in the United States join up with medical institutions after they are done.

This specific story is why department-employed physicians should no longer be a thing. These doctors don't make decisions based on the needs of their patients. To this day, if it’s a beautiful blue sky Fall day, I am reminded of 9/11. So it took my mother in midwest to call me, tell me to put the news on, I called my husband at work in Newark & they didn’t know about it. They went to the other side of the building & could see the towers & smoke. We went to Eagle Rock early evening. Had to park at a grocery store a distance away. President Bush reassured the country that fighter jets were on their way. And you know the rest.
