RIP The Rev Sullivan, drummer, backup singer, main writer, he played also piano, gone too early. Avenged Sevenfold will always be in my favorite bands, haters can say whatever, I really like them from the earlier days to the newer stuff.

As more of a heavier metal person, waking the fallen was one of my introductions and an album that would hold top albums ever to me, of any band. Waking the Fallen is their masterpiece where the song writing as a whole is just amazing, untouchable. love it
@puppetmaster85519 күн бұрын
He was not the main writer, that can only really be said on self titled and some of nightmare, he only played drums on STST/WTF/COE, he didn’t even start writing stuff for the band until self titled so no he absolutely was not the main writer. WTF and COE are considered by many to be their best albums and he just did drums on that album. The rev was an amazing musician and songwriter but ppl gotta stop posting shit like he wrote all their music or some shit. The only album that released when he was alive that he wrote on was self titled

This was awesome, he really needs to hear some of the new stuff. The Stage is a wonderful album and the newest one, LIBAD is also really fun. Those 2 albums in particular show a ton of growth for the band. Also, I would love to hear his take on the title track of the newest album, it's all piano! City of Evil would also be cool for him to react to. I could see him being intrigued by Strength of the World, especially with the orchestral parts. Avenged has massive range and a lot to offer that isn't "main stream."

I think you should introduce Judson to some songs on "City of Evil." I have a feeling that he might actually enjoy them, considering they have some of Synyster Gates's best guitar work across their entire discography. I understand that the vocals are not everyone's cup of tea but the instrumentation on that album is nothing short of spectacular.
@SIRebrum9 күн бұрын
@@pranavnnair5 💯 The Guitar Work on that Album is 1 of the Best I've ever heard in Metal/Rock in General I'd say, not just *A7X's* disco.

The progressions in the guitars are definitely my favorite of all their albums. Syn's work specifically, I can't judge against the other albums because I feel like he always brings his best. But yeah, City of Evil will, personally, go down as one of the most cohesively coherent metal albums of all time.

No other A7X album did this for me, as I'm more of a metal metal person..granted loved the 1st abum, city of evil, and gave more recently tried all the others. I completely agree with everything Richard said about them, I was obsessed with their first two albums and the whole metalcore/post hardcore vibe they had going on and then city of evil came out and I was equally disappointed. I probably need to revisit it because I’m sure it’s a good album I just really wanted more heavy A7X

I remember hearing this song on one of the old Madden games, loved it. Eventually found it on Kazaa or the like and gave the whole album a listen. Still by far my favorite A7X album. A shame that Shadows jacked his voice up during the touring for this album, I think he has continued to have vocal issues off and on. I do like some of their music still, but it's very hit or miss to me. While Waking the Fallen was solid top to bottom.

Gotta go with a City of Evil song next. That’s their true masterpiece album. I know his voices are a little nasally, but it’s a top 100 metal album ever. It’s definitely not crap haha. I had the exact same experience as Richard, where I was let down at first because I was obsessed with WTF, but it really is their best work. @@destructskater Ya I think Bradley Hall said it perfect when he ranked their albums. As dude said here, he doesnt like it at all haha. I love it, 2nd favorite. But waking the Fallen the song writing is just too perfect, the flow of the album. Nothing over the top and just sits perfect. City of Evil gets a lil jerky at times. love it, but it aint waking the fallen, and even the vocals are 10x better on this album too, so theres that fact haha.

@@TheSadistNat1on 100% the Vocals are better. That’s really my only gripe of COE. But songs like the wicked end, I really do love his vocals. That song is just perfection for me.
