2010 was his peak imo, when I saw them right after nightmare released it was easily the best he’d ever sounded and one of if not the best live vocal performances I’ve ever seen. He was amazing in this era too but I think he got a tiny bit better in the nightmare era, he started to decline after the nightmare era but he’s still a good singer just lost some of his power

Interesting story... I bought my wife and I tickets to see Avenged Sevenfold, who at the time was her fav. I liked em but wasn't huge into them. We saw them once before, I looked at the opening lineup and Halestorm was on there (this was 2007/08) and Loved them.. She got sick and we missed the concert, and I couldn't find anyone to go with me.. So they sat under a fridge magnet for a year. Fast forward a few years, I love A7X and she couldn't get enough Hailstorm. Now she's passed and I love watching people happy with the music we shared.

Love this. I fan-girled so hard when I first heard them as well, so I completely understand! The Live in the LBC vids you're doing are definitely the best live from them that I've heard, but you'd probably really like the music videos to Nightmare, Seize the Day, and So Far Away. You're absolutely right that they're besties, and unfortunately, Jimmy "The Rev" (their amazingly talented drummer) passed away in 2009. So Far Away was their heartbreakingly beautiful tribute to him.

My ex and I saw A7X April 13th 2008 at Taste of Chaos in Sacramento California. They came out and opened with this song and it’s one of the best live performances I’ve ever been too. I was fortunate to get to see the Rev perform before he passed away a year later. He could absolutely shred. RIP REV

I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but for more songs with vocals of The Rev (the drummer) he was in a band called Pinkly Smooth where he was the lead vocalist and fellow Avenged member Syn (the lead guitarist) is in it too! They were only around for 2000/2001 but all their stuff's on KZbin anyway, recommended songs are McFly and Mezmer. That dude was amazingly talented.

@@BisscuteReacts yeah since Nightmare album (the last one in which he gave is last contribute even it was Portnoy who finished it and played it live) their sonority changed quite a bit. Their quality didn't went away tho and Brooks (their current drummer) is also very talented. But still, The Rev made part in most of their compositions either on the piano, vocals, lyrics and obviously drumms. That being said i prefer the ones that he made part of.

They still make music and you should make it a point to see a show. I was supposed to see them with Metallica, but Synyster Gates’ wife was having a baby so they had to cancel; however they were awesome enough to put on a free concert for those who had tickets when they had a chance to come back around. They put on a great show, it’s definitely a great experience.
