In this video, I am checking out Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold to see if I think it sucks, or if it will make it to my playlist! (Recorded October 2019)

This song is part of a trilogy of songs that were a tribute to The Rev, who was their drummer who passed in the middle of the making of their nightmare album. He wrote like 60% of the bands material. He was an absolute genius and considered one of the best drummers ever. He was only 29 when he passed in 2009. The entire band grew up together as kids and formed their own band. So you can imagine the pain and several other emotions they were going through. The entire Nightmare ablum is technically a tribute to The Rev. So Far Away is a song you should check out, watch the official video.

He did not write 60% of their material lol, he didn’t even start writing outside of his drum parts until their self titled album , waking the fallen and city of evil were just the rev on drums and that’s it, Matt even talked about how they had to encourage him to write more stuff which lead to self titled album where he wrote full songs like little piece of heaven and almost easy etc. He didn’t write anything even remotely close to 60% of their material, the only 2 albums he wrote on were self titled and nightmare and he died before nightmare even finished. The Rev was an absolute brilliant musician and songwriter but your comment definitely not accurate at all when it comes to songwriting

@@28dirtj ok? That doesn’t change the fact that he just played drums on their first 3 records and didn’t write legit songs until self titled record, saying he wrote 60% of their material just isn’t even close to true.

few comments suggested A little piece of heaven, song from this band but if u do that make sure it's not live version, yes live version is more pleasing to listen to but u need music video to understand the context, it's 8 minute song so believe me u don't want to waste that amount of time for something u won't understand. official music video is a must
