Thor's mother has maybe the greatest line in the MCU about every character. "Everyone fails at what they're supposed to be. The measure of a person, a hero, is how they succeed at being who they are."
@LnPPersonified
@LnPPersonified 5 жыл бұрын
I dunno, the line felt logically flawed to me. What if what they _are_ is a bad person, and who they're _supposed_ to be is good?
@jamesburgess2k
@jamesburgess2k 5 жыл бұрын
@@LnPPersonified most villains in the mcu (or at least phase 3), have the mindset that what they are doing is right. They think they're _supposed_ to be the hero of the story, when in reality they are the villain. None of them can accept that what they are doing is wrong, so they usually end up failing based off what they think they're supposed to be. Their failure is usually their death, so it's little redemption for them. Killmonger is the perfect example for this. And for the hero, every single hero in the mcu had enormous expectations that they've all failed because it wasn't who their truly were meant to be. Tony "failed" at being a weapons dealer like his dad, Cap "failed" as America's "perfect soldier" when throughout his trilogy, he constantly disobeys orders, goes against the government and becomes a war criminal because he always sticks to his ideals (OR failed the Avengers when he directly lead to it being broken up), Thor "failed" his entire family and home and at being their leader, Strange as a surgeon, Quill as a celestial, gamora and Nebula as daughters of Thanos, Ant man as a normal man who must give up the super hero life in order to be with his daughter, T'challa a king who was the first person to question the other leaders in their decisions and the only non-isolationist king of wakanda, and Spider-man, who was supposed to follow the footsteps of Tony and be the next great avenger and instead chooses to live the secret life and is still the only avenger with a secret identity.

I did a sort of marathon of about half the MCU before my second viewing, and I gotta tell ya, the way they weave threads over this entire affair is truly remarkable. For example, it was only after watching a fleeting exchange in Ant-Man and the Wasp that I picked up on the teasing grin which Hope shot at Scott during the climax when she called Captain America "Cap." The tiniest throwback, and yet it speaks volumes towards the interconnectedness of this entire universe. That is world class world building.

In Age of Ultron, Wanda showed Iron man a premonition of the whole disaster that at the time, we didnt know it was Thanos. Cap's shield was broken, just like how it was shown in Endgame, and in the vision, he grabbed Iron Man's hand and said "you could have saved us" and i think strange knew that. You are right, but it didn't make any sense in this movie. They were already winning the fight, most of Thanos's generals were dead , his warship destroyed and even Thanos was exhausted, injured and barely able to stand. If RDJ wins an Oscar he would be only be the 2nd actor in a comic book movie to win one. Heath Ledger being the first. And honestly RDJ deserves it. He has worked so hard for this
