@@reactswithjax Bit of a spoiler really, since this movie doesn't let us know whether Hawkeye is still alive. But I guess the spoiler has already been spoiled, so yeah. So just to recap: The original 6 Avengers and Rhodes (Iron Patriot) and Rocket are still alive. Tony and Nebula are still alive, but on that other planet, with no way back. We don't know if Antman is still alive, except for the fact that that's the next movie.

I'd also like to point out the next Antman movie is pretty good. You can skip it and Cpt Marvel and not really miss anything in Endgame. Antman's end credits are the only link and gets immediately explained. Cpt Marvel doesn't matter.The Hawkeye mystery, and then the amazigness of Hawkeye and Black Window is pure gold.

I remember watching the snap in a theater full of people in the room. The entire room was silent. It's like all of us were forced to hold our breath. I remember looking around and just seeing most people leaning forward in their seats with their eyes wide open. We all ain't never seen ANYTHING like that.

I think the plan was to give people a fun easy going film in between, which it actually is! Captain Marvel, though, that was a different story. But End Game was released only a month after Captain Marvel, so it wasn't that bad.

One thing a lot of people don't consider, is that since he has the Spidey-Sense, Pete sensed he and most people around him were about to die before it happened, and it would've told him that nothing could be done. And since he is one of the stronger heroes, he held on longer than anyone.

strength has nothing to do with this, dr strange is the strongest superhero in entire MCU and he died before many others, so did wanda who is close second, quill is half celestial he died before peter, please don't make up stuff. Peter is by far one of the weakest character in the MCU as well as the comics, he is a street leveller for a reason. Spidey-sense is a sense (it helps him sense danger) it doesn't show the future.

Peter being street level is like Batman being street level, sure they mostly take on organized crime but no way you're saying the dude who defeated the Avengers twice and X-Men once is only "street level." He felt depressed in a Marco Chechetto comic 2-3 years back and casually hopped universes to get advice from alternate versions of him. "Peter is one of the wealest characters in the MCU" is a ridiculous statement." And yes, the Spider-sense is literally a preternatural sense that senses future danger. Even if you just go by the movies how do you think he knew Electro was a danger a full 15-20 minutes before he actually posed a threat in TASM2, or that in No Way Home in the MCU he knew that the Goblin had taken over Norman's mind? It is literally a sense that warns him of _future danger,_ how do you say such incorrect statements so confidently?

1:40 - Yeah, for us, this was 10 years in the making (hence the red 10 in Marvel Studios logo). This was a once in a lifetime experience. This was our generation's "No, I am your father." Except it took 10 years of groundwork. So much hard work. Billions of dollars involved. Millions of people holding their breath for a year, waiting for Endgame. We didn't even know the name of the next movie, they kept a lid on it. PURE EPIC.

That outburst, “next movie is Ant-Man”, had me burst out in laughter in public, feel like a real weirdo… the moment of shared mourning in the cinema was one of those life memories that can never be replicated. 10 years of following these movies and then this. We didn’t feel like ant man was a problem; it felt more like, “ok so we get two movies to comfort us over the next 12 months while we wait for end game”. If felt like compassion from marvel. But I can see how when you have the option to just watch the next movie today, ant-man and captain marvel feel like roadblocks.

One of the joys, for me, at least, of seeing this in the theater was walking out of the theater at the end. The crowd was silent, dumbstruck, shellshocked, and the crowd waiting to go into the next showing got to watch us all zombie shuffle our way out. As somber as the mood was, it was absolutely hilarious to see their faces go from "great mood, about to see an epic movie" to "wtf happened to THOSE people?" You could just see the horror dawning in their eyes. It was fabulous.

Wow, I never thought of this. I always park on the side of the theater so I don't know if we left out the side door. Hmm, also we saw it opening night - doing some research maybe the first show was 7pm(?) so we would have walked out nearly 10pm maybe no more showtimes.

It was honestly genius how this movie was actually mainly focused on the Avengers despite Thanos being the actual protagonist. Thanos was the one with an objective to snap away half of human life with the Avengers simply trying to stop that, but Thanos succeeds.

I will say the editing job you did in this reaction was absolutely superb and hysterical. Your reaction is so real and what we all went through several years ago. Btw side note as a mental health professional, the stages of grief do not have any specific order or time frame. Everyone goes through the stages at their own pace and at different times. I was going to say the stages do not follow an order. At the theater walking out there was a group that was clearly angry, they were saying they will never watch another Marvel movie again. Then we had to face many months processing this. We had to continue going to work and slowly getting our lives back to a semblance of normality.

Your post credit scene was very similar to the Avengers (2012)'s post credit scene, I love it! Avengers Infinity War (2018) Thanos says "all that for a drop of blood" Iron Man 2 (2010) Ivan Vanko says "If you could make God bleed, people would cease to believe in him."

Watching this movie back in 2018 was one of the greatest collective experiences I ever had. The audience was completely silent at the end, with the occasional sobbing. It was crushing, and know that the comics version of this story arc was even more brutal.

@@reactswithjax yep. The Infinity Gauntlet saga was released in the early 90s, that was even before I started reading Marvel comics. 😅 In the comics Thanos was in love with Mistress Death, which is a character in the Marvel universe, and he zapped half universe just to try and woo her.

Straight up. It’s refreshing Jax REMEMBERS what’s happening. So annoying when they’re like, “Oh what’s Caps metal armed friends name again? Was he in one of them before…?”

I remember seeing this in the theater and everyone walking out after the movie was over either in shock, grief, or stoic. Some crying, some theorizing the next step to save the world, some not saying anything at all. I wasn't thrilled with any death at the end, but Spider-Man clinging to Tony pleading that he doesn't want to go just reminded me that he is still a kid and truly views Tony as a father figure.

Just to twist the knife a little more: With Peter's spider sense is like a very basic prediction power, being able to see just slightly into the future. He knew something awful was happening, but not exactly what, just that there was a blank wall approaching, a terminus where no spider sense was going beyond. He's had that for a few years by this point, so it would have been especially unnerving. For the Whovians, "I don't want to go..." was the final phrase (at the time) of the 10th Doctor's (David Tennant) life, slowly dying and seeing the Regeneration coming, the end of all he was. It was REALLY hard to sit through Peter saying that if you'd happen to just watch that episode of Doctor Who...like I had 2 days before seeing Infinity War opening night.

Amazingly, this was THE quietest Marvel viewing I ever went to. Despite how many insane things happened here, the entire audience we're just glued to the screen and no one dared miss a single line of dialogue. There was only 2 cheers (Thor entrance and the Strange/Thanos magic fight) and just a sea of sniffles and gasps at the end.

It was an insane year for theories and speculation

The disappearing scenes for Rocket/Groot & Peter hit so much harder knowing that Groot's last words to Rocket were "Dad?" and Peter's spider sense going absolutely insane knowing something horrible was going to happen but in no way actually save him from his incoming fate.

Then he had to go back through his "childhood" and "teenage" years. And Rocket is the one looking over him, having the role of a dad. @@RPGryphus Rocket was hardly a parent to New Groot, and it was never specified that New Groot has Old Groot's memories of being Rocket's partner before they met the others. We see QUILL acting more like a father to Groot than Rocket even attempted. Thanks for saying I'm not "thoughtful". That really helped the conversation. Now please tell me how the kid in Iron Man 2 is really Peter Parker, even though Peter the Motormouth never tells Tony about it (nor mentions it to Ned) and doesn't have any fanboy reaction when Tony shows up at his place and May doesn't tell Tony when he's flattering her…some idiots fantasized it on line and Feige humored them, so that's TOTALLY canon, right? FFS.

The pain and anger i was feeling when i first time saw this movie in the cinema. The movie ended and everyone just went outside quiet. Not saying a single word. We were lost and without words to describe what just happened. And the fact the we managed to wait 1 year to see what's going on is insane to me. I don't know how i managed to do that but i'm proud of myself haha. Best movie in the MCU for me, hands down! Also i loved the fact that Marvel kept the Original 6 Avengers so they can focus on them for the next movie. They started it all and they will end it. I love it.

im giggling hysterically lmao we had to wait over a year, you only have maybe a week or two! the theatre during this movie was INSANE!! SHOUTING, CURSING, SCREAMING, "WTF DO YOU MEAN THEY LOST?!?!?" this was the villain we've been waiting for. I love that the story for this saga is that, sometimes, no matter what they do or how hard they try, sometimes...the good guys lose. and your reaction to the cliffhanger ending did not disappoint!!

15:08 little fun fact: when these movies were originally announced it was as Infinity War Parts 1 and 2. They later changed the name of Part 2 since both movies can kind of stand on their own. Plus there’s a bit of a negative feeling around movies being labeled that way (the 2010s were packed with a good handful of parts 1 and 2).

About hope in the post-credit. People aware of the comics recognized that "star symbol" blu red and gold on Fury's communicator. I won't spoiler it for you, of course, but that was the only beacon of hope we could have, in the ocean of sadness (I had my daughter crying out loud in the theatre and she wasn't the only one). One of my favorite callbacks of this movie in the scene when tony made thanos bleed. Thanos is pretty much a god with all the infinite stones, in Ironman 2, whiplash tells tony, "If you can make God bleed, then people will seize to believe in him."

All the stones are powerful, for sure, and most will probably have some effect on any normal person who holds them, but only the Power stone destroys the holder and even that is not immediate. We saw Peter, Ronin and even Karina hold the Power stone for a time. It could be argued that if Karina had dropped the stone instead of clutching it in desperation, she might have lived.

First of all, fantastic video, as always. I was eager to see how you'd react to the ending, and it was better than I expected. The editing is absolutely on point. As others have mentioned, seeing this in the theaters on opening weekend was quite the experience. When the credits rolled, so many people were shocked, saddened, and largely silent. Their confusion and frustration was, like your own, completely understandable and justified. To see so many beloved heroes lose? To see so many of them die? That's hard to absorb when we're used to seeing good win out in the end. I was one of the relatively small number of people who wasn't so shocked, because the movie essentially ended exactly the way I hoped it would. When these films were originally announced, it was originally as Infinity War parts 1 and 2, so I always knew that it was going to end on some sort of cliffhanger. Also, as someone who read the comic mini-series this was originally based on when it was released way back in 1991, I had a rough idea of where they might take this story, and while I was saddened to see some of the deaths, I was elated with the way the material was handled. This was, after all, Thanos' film. We finally not only get to see him fight (finally), but we also get to see his motivations, and find out he's not some 1-dimesional character. He's the hero of his own story (which most well-written villains are), and he's narratively the protagonist of this film. It was only right for him to end the film having achieved his goal, albeit at a very heavy personal cost. Being frustrated that the next film is "frickin' ANT-MAN" is natural, but I suspect you're really, really going to enjoy it. And given your release schedule, I would imagine you have already watched it. Best wishes to you, keep up the great work. I love your channel!

I like how the progression of realization happens "this isn't going to end in a cliffhanger is it?" "if this ends with him snapping his fingers..." also with more clear thinking than Thor, who wanted to hurt Thanos and wasn't thinking about things like "lets chop off his arm"

Remember that they teased this ending in Age of Ultron when Wanda showed him this vision on Thanos throne. The original Avengers all on Thanos Throne dead or dying and Steve’s haunting words saying “you could have saved us, why didn’t you do more”. There's also an Easter egg showing the gauntlet that Thanos will use to harness the stones power in the space dust shape. I love the trailers for this movie when it shows the build up, it kept me hype for this peak of Marvel and maybe it’ll motivate you too. Also it was a cool time to see all the posters about avenging the fallen.

A lil headcanon I love is the idea that even though "being snapped" is painless, Spiderman is crying in pain, because his Spider Sense is just losing it like "NO NO NO NO NO STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP", and it's like _blinding_ his other senses, cuz it's the _ultimate_ danger, and there is _no way_ to avoid it.

I don't understand why people still criticise Star-Lord for how he reacted to Gamora's death. If Star-Lord acted any differently, Thanos would have won. Dr Strange saw the one future where the Avengers win, and Star-Lord losing it was necessary for that future to happen. Star-Lord losing it in that moment and preventing Tony and Peter from removing the gauntlet helped to save the universe.

I like to think I do not delight in the suffering of others but the expression of pure shock and rage when the screen read "directed by Anthony and Joe Russo" was truly one of a kind. But then again, misery loves company and I do appreciate seeing that other people are just as upset by this ending as I was.

The emotional charge of this film is enormous, but in my opinion (and I hope not only in my opinion) the emotional charge of End Game is even greater. Remember that one phrase that is repeated many times in Captain America The Winter Soldier? This sentence will be said again, for the only time, in End Game. Immediately after this, magical, unforgettable moments will begin to happen on the screen. You held back tears during Infinity War. In this scene you won't be able to stop them anymore. People in the cinema halls were cheering, screaming and getting up from their seats during these scenes. Applause for the scriptwriters who came up with such a wonderful ending to the adventure in this world that lasted over 10 years.

Fun fact to break your heart a bit more, Spiderman could feel his death approaching due to his Spidey-sense. He also apologized to Tony because if you remember from Homecoming, Tony told Peter "And if you died, I feel like that's on me." ENJOY! :D

The Spidey sense thing isn't really a fact so much as a popularly accepted theory. It would have been firing off on all cylinders from at least the moment Thanos snapped his fingers. My own theory for the reason Peter's dusting took longer from the moment he felt it (apart from the obvious deliberate tear-jerking by the Russos) is that Peter is one of the true superpowered humans in the MCU, with a bit of a healing factor. It's not in Hulk's league (or Deadpool's or Wolverine's), but it's there, and it tried to counteract the snap. Everyone else we saw get dusted barely had time to react, let alone beg for help and ultimately say goodbye.

It always annoys me hearing people in comment sections saying that it was the spider sense when there's never been a shred of truth behind that. One thing I noticed: when Steve Rogers said earth just lost its best defender, he was referring to Thor; not Iron Man. And you asked, if I was in that battle, I would probably want to be Thor. Thor’s entrance into Wakanda was probably the best part of the movie. His entrances are always epic.

Dr. Strange gave Thanos the Time Stone because he knew that Tony staying alive was necessary for the one alternate future in which they win. This explains why he initially told Tony that he would sacrifice him or Peter if it meant keeping the stone from Thanos, because he said that before looking into the future.

You're reaction to all this is golden! I knew tears were going to be shed in this part of it! Leaving the theater, everyone was quiet, and some still had tears rolling. We actually came across some other Marvel fans going into the theater and they saw the tears, and asked us "what the hell happened?"
