Also back when you started collecting where do you get your comics, I got my first comics at the local super market I would save up and do a weekly pilgrimage, boy I loved that time

It’s from around the summer of “73. It transversed both the Averages and Defenders series, alternating each issue. Note in those days the Defenders were the first antiheroes, enigmas and/or anomalies, while the Avengers were public heroes. Also, note that three of the Defenders were considered international security threats (Hulk, Silver Surfer & Sub-Mariner). To this day, it is my favorite storyline. I love the storyline, dialogue, premise, ink, colors and characters.

@@BruceNewhouse after all these year do you still read comic books?
@BruceNewhouseАй бұрын
@@cavotiscomics3423 Only old ones from the late 60s to the late 80s. My first comics were Avengers 110, Daredevil 99, Hulk 161, Defenders 6, X-Men 81 and Justice League of America 105 (circa March “73). They came from a luncheon deli that had comics on revolving racks. Most villains were on a street/real world level with one global threat per year, and the all powerful universal threats were used sparingly. Today’s comics have too many Omega Level characters in my opinion. It is fun reminiscing.

This looks great. I love reading Marvel comics from the early 1970's. I recently reread SUPREME POWER#1 which has reprints of the early Squadron Supreme appearances in Avengers in the 70s. They were great reads. By the way I have friends from Ghana and Nigeria who irritated by similar things as you are with people thinking Africa is just one country. Lol. I have had a map of the world on my wall since I was 25 to keep me in check.

Marvel has always been about crossovers . Long before the Avengers/Defenders War there was the Fantastic Four / Avengers 2 issue crossover dealing with the Hulk , circa FF 23-24 ( double check that though) .

You are totally right, even before that in Timely Namor and the Human Torch Too
