This is one of the practical e-bikes that you have reviewed... I'm an advocate for e-bikes because of the environmental benefits that can be offered. If I may say this with respect, too many of your e-bike reviews have included bikes that are what I consider to be junk. There are too many overnight low-cost low-quality e-bikes are saturating the market. Eventually these electric toys will end up in a landfill. These junk bikes squeeze out the market place the quality and practical e-bike makers. Aventon makes solid value e-bikes and this I feel is one of their best. At $2200 this is bike is not cheep, but the of value and practicability that this bike offers, is what I consider to be a win for the environment and the consumer. The Aventon Abound offers an alternative for people to drive their car less, at the same time mix in some fun and exercise.

Don't forget the turn signals! They're pretty cool and I hope Aventon keeps integrating them in all their future releases
@g00fysmiley Жыл бұрын
lots of good stuff here. I especially like that Aventon finally added a good way to have a front basket, hopefully they do that on all thier bikes going forward. I read that the app can unlock it to a full class 3 with 28mph while pedaling . the only real downside i see is that small battery/range with the space under that cargo rack they really should have done a double battery setup and doubles the battery, or at least made an upgrade kit for it. hard to choose this over a Lectric Xpedition which you can get the dual battery for less, you lose the front suspension, integrated battery, and neat seat post, but probably worth it for the savings

That depends if the torque feature and name brand fork really help to reduce spinal impact. I’d love to get the expedition, but I can’t have unnecessary spine impact. Also maybe silly , but a big concern of mine is the chain slapping and chain falling off, and getting spiked by chain. I hate to have to pay more for such features , the only b other e cargos w chain guards are $$$. I just hope it’s not too heavy to handle while driving e cargo…

I'm posting here because I've searched for this question all over the internet with limited information. The question is "how is the Abound for tall riders?" Well, I'm 6' 3" and I can tell you it is great. I just test rode it and this bike is great. I didn't even have seat post all the way up. Build quality is excellent, hydraulic disc brakes, turn signals, the motor senses your pedaling and power shifts are very smooth. I've risen Expedition, Powerwagon and now the bound. This is the one for me (and they are doing a promotion with a FREE extra battery)

I just purchased the Aventon Abound today. I walked into the bike shop to look at another bike, but when I test drove the abound, I was sold! Such a smooth, quick, and powerful bike with different settings to choose from for your journey like echo, cruise sport, and turbo. I also installed the kid rail seat in the back and took my some son on a nice long journey, which he loved to death. He didn't want to go home while we were out cruising. Money well spent! Side note, im 6'6 and i fit perfectly comfortable on it 😍

I just posted and totally agree. I'm 6'3" and just test rode the Abound and loved it. Ordering this weekend to take advantage of free extra battery. Really a well built cargo bike with upgraded tech. I live in Minneapolis so my only regret is that I can't ride it year round.

Surprised not more companies include the dropper seatpost in their models, it would fit a lot of riders of different heights much better.
@ex0stasis72 Жыл бұрын
I think it's probably because most manufacturers just assume that most people are going to replace the seat entirely immediately after purchasing, so why put any more budget into a higher end seat if the customer isn't even going to benefit from it.

Bought one. Great ride so far. The rear basket was too big for my needs.Their return policy is Ok. $15 return postage for accessories and a lot more for bikes (about $75-150) for bikes. Turn around time for email reply after a purchase is slow. I suggest going to a local dealer that carries the brand, riding the bike there, and see if they will sell you the bike for the same price as online. Setup fee for delivery to dealer is $180 on top of the listed price.

Aventon does nice styling. Looks like it is a good practical cargo bike. But it doesn't have much battery. I like my new cargo bike much better though. Not worrying about range is a real luxury. It has two Samsung 17ah batteries for 1632wh total. 1000 watt Bafang hub for 28mph using throttle and great hill climbing torque. Tektro hydraulics instead of off-brand Bengal. Includes front and rear baskets. $1820 F16 model from BPM imports.

They don't allow you to use the app to get class 3 for this bike due to its weight and purpose.(being severely weighed down).

Why is an app needed? Also what do you think of the chain protector?
@Nalladolla32 Жыл бұрын
@@finallythere100 in other bikes the app is needed to unlock class 3 or change top speed, settings, etc. I don't mind the chain protector. I mean I don't have one on my bikes 52T but different bike, different uses.

I have an Aventon Aventure and like the bike generally speaking. There are somethings about the bike I don’t like but to be honest I can find something wrong with any e-bike at any price point. Aventon makes some good solid e-bikes that are typically a good value too. The torque sensor, front suspension, zippered storage bag and dropper seatpost are nice extras on the Aventon Abound. But for $500 less you can buy the Lectric EPedition with the dual-battery option and have far greater range. And Lectric is offering detachable, passenger running boards (floorboards) with passenger seat pads for the rear rack at no extra cost on their launch edition on top of that. They also have more accessories available for their cargo e-bike than Aventon offers. I’m sure the Abound is a very good cargo e-bike that’s worth the money for it’s build quality and extras you get with it but the XPedition is such a screaming good deal.

I like your channel, but you really stuck it to Lectric a few times. The Xpedition seems to be a great bike for about half the price. So for $2200, I would expect some nice whiz bang features. Yes, they are both Cargo Ebikes, but serving different markets.
@Electrek Жыл бұрын
Like I said, Lectric's is amazing bang for your buck. But Aventon's is higher quality. It just depends which floats your boat. Both are great options and I love seeing more choices for riders of all budgets!

Sure, but Riese & Müller copied Tern‘s GSD 😊
@richardcoffman6794 Жыл бұрын
You may be right, but having ridden both the Tern GSD and R-M Multitinker, at least R-M improved the design. I found it to be a smoother and more comfortable ride and in same price range as the GSD. Plus multitinker has the highest quality components. In all the reviews I've seen there hasn't been anything said about the components of the power train on the Aventon, just battery size and output. Maybe that's why it is so much cheaper. Also agree with observation that none of the reviews of Averton are done with bike loaded up. Put it through it's paces and then let's see a review. Maybe a side by side review of those three bikes. Now that would be a useful and informative e-cargo bike review. Comparing apples to apples.

The Lectric Xpedition Doesn't look as nice, but it has a lot more speed and twice the range for several hundred dollars less. The shocks, drop seat and looks don't make up for that in my opinion. But it is a nice bike.
