@@nicholausstevens1262 nah, our endemic species are pretty cool on our own. Some that are only in the Everglades include the big cypress fox squirrel, ghost orchid and Florida panther. Another unique feature of the Everglades is the fact that entire biomes can change by mere inches of terrain difference, 5 inches can be the difference between a pine forest and a cypress swamp! We have a lot of invasive species due to the climate here being perfect for lots of tropical species, but I’d argue the most harmful invasive species is, well, us. Humans. It’s important that the Everglades is protected not just for biodiversity but also to protect Florida from hurricanes and ensure we have a good drinking water supply 👍

Know the difference, Alligators are only dangerous if you're between them and their babies, or they feel cornered and you're in between them and their preferred escape route. Crocodiles are dangerous if you're in what they consider their territory, which you have next to know way of knowing the boundaries of unless you have been watching that particular croc for several days or they're hungry and there's nothing better to eat around.

These are so amazing, thanks for posting! Being in Canada and going to Florida 4 times for vacation over my 45 years of existence I had no idea many of the (mostly) lizards lived down there. The only ones I've seen in the wild down there are those tiny little ones that are almost impossible to catch before they scatter lol Those Day geckos are adorable! Keep up the great work!
