Average Height Comparison By Countries (2020) | Human Height Comparison
This video shows the average size heights from countries. All figures refer to men and women between the ages of 18 and 45 years. In the US, the average male is 1.77 m tall. The average US-american woman reaches 13 cm less with a height of 1.66 m. In international comparison both are still doing well in the race.
Most countries use the metric system to measure height, but there are three countries that have yet to break their dedication and loyalty to the imperial system of measurements. These three countries are Liberia, Myanmar, and the United States of America. Even though the metric system is the most common system of measurements, we will include the average height by country in both metric units and imperial units.
For clarification, the imperial system measures height by way of feet and inches, whereas the metric system uses meters and centimeters. These units of measurement are not hard to switch between, but countries tend to stick to one over the other in order to maintain consistency.

Typically, yes. Although that difference can and does diminish over time. People are simply reaching their full genetic potential with better nutrition and lifestyle, not necessarily evolving to be 'taller'. So it's phenotypical not genetic. Future generations are unlikely to be taller in developed countries

As an indonesian, this is hit right in the core because I am above average, most of the people here are around 167cm to 171cm and the last time I check my height a couple of years ago is around 178.5 and maybe I am already taller than that right now. But being a tall person here is almost a pain in the ass, because If you have a height that is above average then you need to be ready for some pain in almost your everyday life, like almost bumping your head to almost anything, small size clothes everywhere and you need to pay more for custom made shoes that are fit for your size, every meal feels like a snack, tiny seat every time you take public transportation because your size taking up a lot of space, and most of the time people will seeing you as older than you are which can be a pain sometimes, damn I wish I was shorter.

I remember travelling to Philippines. Despite being typical height of 6'0" / 183cm, I found myself often being the tallest person around. I was even at a party surrounded by male models, and I was like the giant in the room. Then I went to the Netherlands, and it was the complete reverse. Practically everyone towered over me. I even had to stand on tip toes to be able to use the urinal. I swear the real average height there must be at least 6'4". It was like Gulliver's Travels for real.

I remember, I was a student in junior high school and I was no taller than 5'4.9 ft (1.65 cm). Suddenly in a summer vacation, I spent a few months in a soccer camp somewhere in a mountain area and when I came back even my mother couldn't believe it: I was 5'10 Ft (1.78 cm) and had become the third tallest among the boys in the class.However, I remained the same height even today when I am 48 years old. So at 6'1", you'd be taller than like 99% of them 😭 Even to men, you're still 2 inches taller than average, you should still feel "sort of tall" or depending on insecurities, feel average or below (even though you are simply not). Even a 3 inch difference is something. Think about the average man and women in North America, it is a 5 inch difference and it feels quite big right? I mean most countries have that same gap between men and women, some even more (or less) so we should all know the difference. So anwyay, even half that would still feel something, which is 2.5 inches. So even a 3 inch difference is kind of a bit. You can definitely feel a 3+ inch difference. So a 7 inch difference between the women of Serbia is quite a bit 🤷‍♂️

I remember in 6th grade I was around 163 cm (5'4) that time and I was the tallest girl in my classroom : 0 and I remember when a bunch of highschoolers came to me and said "you're so tall" but like I'm 5'4 😂 Yes. 5'6 here in PH is already considered very tall for a person especially if you're a woman. Japanese men aren't that tall. The avg height of a Japanese man is 5'5" (165cm). The height for Japanese girls is accurate though. They're usually 5'2" on avg.

I'm 186cm and live in the Netherlands, but I would say that foreign immigrant children have probably lowered the average (I'm half Dutch half immigrant), because most full blood ethnic Dutch are way taller than me. My guess would be at least 193cm for men, if we only count full ethnic Dutch. Also on a side note: I find it interesting that the country called the lowlands also has the tallest people.

I'm 1.77m and live in Japan now. But there are a lot of Japanese taller than me. Recentry there food culture is changed by U.S.A food style. Almost young Japanese people don't eat washoku, they eat meet. Thus almost Japan's high school boys have 1.80m over and girls have 1.64m over. offcorse there are 1.90m over too. This is why food is important.
