Absolutely special, this one. I've got the 2221 quartz version. Picked it up for 900 bucks full set 7 years ago. Totally lucked out on that day!

@@tonispark5626 Thanks! Yeah I know it's mad. Well not really I suppose, the old Omega quartz pieces were very cool. It's nice to see the seconds hand ticking around the dial rather than sweeping, like almost all my other watches.

The Casino Royale SMP was my first good watch. Or as I was reading somewhere else, my first big boy watch. In January 2008 I just wanted to take a closer look at it at my local Omega Boutique but once I had in in my hands and on my wrist it was difficult to put it back. So I bought it. I still have it and never wanted another SMP, at least not in exchange for this one. The 2220.80 is for me the perfect mix of design, size, wearability and versatility of the Brosnan Bond watches on one side and technical advancements like co-axial escapement and design refinements like applied logo and markers of the new SMP iterations.

I own this watch and had it serviced by Omega in 2022. I have the Uncle Straps 1479 Speedy style bracelet and the Forstner 1450 bracelet. It looks awesome.

I just bought a "like new" 2012 James Bond 007 50th anniversary limited edition 41mm Seamaster with box and papers because it's super cool and offered the proper size for my smaller frame (5'10 / 145lbs) and wrist. I tried on the new version and found it to be too big for my 6.65 wrist size. Yeah it works, but I don't want a honkin Invicta-sized watch banging on everything, every time I'm doing something.... I saw a bigger guy wearing the current version at a store recently, his wrist size was much bigger than mine and I thought it looked too big on him as well.... Nice watch and style though... Omega should just offer it in a 40-41mm so skinny cats like me can pull it off without it looking like a space-aged hockey puck...!!

@@DadeMurphie It's not like ceramic bezels change the whole game. It looks crisp and fresh and remains that way, yes. For the taste of some people maybe too flashy. But in order to make it not break easily it is thicker than aluminum bezels. And in case of the SMP that makes it much chunkier and less versatile and wearable than the model in this video. My dive watches are models from around 2010 and they all have aluminum bezels but they still are in very good condition, the 2220.80 included. Would I buy a watch with ceramic bezel? Yes. Is it important or even a dealbreaker for me? No, it would be nice to have but not a must have.

@@Harry-tb8yo what? Ceramic bezels did change the whole game. It accomplishes what previous bezels failed at. Staying crisp, fresh and SCRATCHLESS is a massive GAME CHANGER. Some people thinking its flashy does not in any way negate that the game was changed. Previously you had no option for a bezel that wouldn't scratch and now you do. You can also extend that to cases. All those coated black watches will eventually scratch off exposing the metal underneath. All your SMPs may look good for their age but I can guarantee they won't look as new as any ceramic that reaches that age. Just because you dont care about a certain aspect of the game doesn't mean it wasn't changed. I would wager you are the odd one out on this front. Most people like their jewelry to look shiny and new. Hell most people like all their stuff to look shiny and new.

@@DadeMurphie I don't know what other people do with their watches or how they treat them. I don't baby my watches and they are 15 to 16 years old. Normal daily use and the bezels look as good as new. Just because you seem to be a big fan of ceramic bezels doesn't mean they changed the whole game.

I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
