I love that faded bezel!! I don’t like that some people replace it in service

Thanks for the info. I bought one today and I can't stop looking at it. It's a truly beautiful creature!!!

Great review! As a substitute for a micro adjustment I find you can tuck the quick release back in "incorrectly" and tighten it up very slightly on the fly. The folding side of the micro adjust is mean to tuck under a little bar when stowed, but if you don't do this and let it rest on top of it, but still snap the other end in place to secure it, the watch wears slightly more snug. It's usually juuuuust about enough to go from a little too loose to nearly right

That is an absolutely fantastic tip. I used that today and that actually blew me away. Thanks so much!

Funny, I had trouble with one of the two pushers on the clasp getting stuck in until I realised I wasn't tucking in the dive extension lip correctly. Great tip though.

Love it Max! I didn’t realise the red fades on the second hand.

Thanks, Dan! Yeah! It's a super cool look in my opinion. Some ended up orange but mine went right to white!

@@ttmhog15 but why would it fade in difference colors?
@ttmhog153 жыл бұрын
@@yusakufudo367 because of quality control and exposure. Same reason some rolex dials turn brown and others don't. It depends on the materials used, their application, and what kind of/how much the individual watches are exposed to light. Direct sunlight mixed with salt water exposure (through air or direct contact) can dramatically alter how watches age.

How can there be scratches in the AR coating on the inside?? (mine has one too)
@jtmo33 жыл бұрын
I believe there is no coating on the outside of the crystal so the scratches wouldn't be in the coating.

How do you think this compares to the 2254.50? I’m torn between the 2531.80 and 2254.50. I love the sword hands and more “modern” bracelet of the 2254.50. But the 2531.80 has that cool vintage vibe.

Enjoyed your video. The Seamaster was my second luxury watch. Loved the Bond history. However, that watch is going for $2500 to $2900 preowned. I’m going for the new ceramic blue on blue Seamaster. At $4000 it’s a great deal and a major upgrade on the 300 professional. I do miss the 2531.31! Keep up the fun videos.

For that much, I agree. When I picked this one up, it was trading for about $1,600 and the Ceramic was brand new

I really like the new Seamaster, but this iteration is imo the better more classy looking watch. My favourite watch of all time!

@@AZadeh-nd8vx agreed, I got this one over the ceramic version, cant beat the Brosnan

@john corcoran i just got mine today I actually paid 2700 for it I always liked this version,the new one is very chunky to my taste and i belive this one will still go up in price

I can't see a new one as an upgrade... Every new in-house stuff they do is a downgrade in my eyes... just more complicated and way more expensive to service. Not to mention dimensions of the new one...
@FuckMyParents-4202 жыл бұрын
The way the seconds hand patinas into an off shade of white really compliments the rest of the look, to be honest I think it should have came that way new.

In fairness to the quartz goldeneye SMP 300, it had a laser that cut through the floor of a train. It's reasonable that its not fully mechanical :p

This watch gets the most wrist action in my collection. I love it but I have to admit it does need a service.

It's such a fun piece to wear. Mine doesn't get near the wrist time it deserves. But it is a cracking watch

Yeah great choice.This watch is so comfortable on the wrist and looks great. When I was 19 I won a couple of watches for prizes as an amateur boxer but they're long gone and weren't worth much. Good luck on getting an SMP, you wont regret it.
