Yes. You can close the screen on the Pioneer AVH-3500NEX, and a DVD video or USB video will continue to play on a screen connected to the Rear Monitor Output. The wireless remote control will still operate the DVD playback with the screen closed. Does this Pioneer AVH 3500 NEX fit with 2009 BMW 328i Coupe ? I know that using Single DIN Stereo Dash Kit can hold this Pioneer in the hole, but the main thing is that the connector between AVH 3500 NEX and vehicle is different.

In aftermarket car stereo you can buy wiring kits made to fit your vehicle. I recommend to use a wiring kit made to fit your vehicle and it will match up with the Pioneer wire harness. Many wiring kits are available. Here is one possibility: metraonline.com/vfgapi/vehicle/94681 Depending upon your vehicle, you may need a steering wheel control adapter, antenna adapter, and chime retention module. When you use a wiring kit you match up the wire colors from the kit to the Pioneer wire harness. The Pioneer AVH-3500NEX is a 1 DIN chassis with a 7 inch motorized touch screen. I don't have dash install kit information for this vehicle. I believe this will fit with some minor modification to the dash. The depth of this receiver chassis will make it stick out of the vehicle dash a little in the 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix. You could make it work with the proper dash installation kit that extends out of dash about 3/4 of an inch. There are many possibilities with this question. Are you using the receiver's internal amplifier? Or an external amplifier? Is the external amp switching on? If it's the internal amp, this may seem simple, however, please be sure the speaker outputs from the in-dash receiver are connected directly to the speakers in your vehicle. I recommend to press the in-dash receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. The Pioneer AVH-3500NEX has one camera input. That's the brown RCA on the back of the receiver for the dedicated backup camera.
