I saw an interview where Avi talked about when his voice changed during puberty. He hadn't even noticed, because he was already a bass, and went back school after summer, and all of his school mates were telling him how low his voice was. He also mentioned that he was glad he was used to singing bass, because he would have been extremely upset had he been a baritone and then going bass.

The Summit is one of my favorites. He sings the low and high parts. Check it out. It Knows Me (the original and the alt. Version are both great), Sweet Adeline is fun. He wrote that when he was in love and happy. Now, he has followed it up with a part 2 that is am apology for things that happened in that relationship ship. I'll Get By is loved by many. If you do Avi's stuff, most pentaholics will follow right along with you. You don't have to worry about it being different.

Avi's voice is my favorite of any singer today. Its so clean and rich it gives me goosebumps. I heard him doing his original work from before PTX and always hoped he would do solo work. He doesn't disappoint.

When Avi was touring with Pentatonix and performing Natural Disaster, he often had the reverb (?) turned up for his low notes. If you were in the audience, you could feel the note vibrating right through your body; it was an amazing experience!

Little music lesson: The number (like C1, B4, etc.) is the octave that the note is in, so C1-C2 is 1 octave. The "hashtag" is called a "sharp", meaning it is the semitone between the previous note and the next note. (So C2-C#2-D2, etc.) The flats are the opposite, meaning that it is just a different notation of a sharp. (B4-Bb4 or A#4-A4, etc.) That should be enough music theory to help you understand these vocal range videos lol

Hi, thank you so much for reacting to my video on Avi Kaplan! Sorry for the misstake in that name of song on the start, I sometimes forget to overwrite the text of the song when I put together clips and text for the notes and techniques. I try to be more carefull about that but sometimes it happens so sorry for it.

Avi stuff - brand new "Song for the Thankful" came out Friday. In Avi's upper register as is Aberdeen (and yes Avi can ride horses). I would also suggest a live performance such as "Change on the Rise" in Amsterdam. It is an audience participation piece for live shows. Thanks

Yes, more Avi please. Chains is another one with some deep bass, but also good range. Or the Summit, but that one doesn't really have video. Well, I really enjoy Avi's style. Definitely it isn't the Pop style of Pentatonix.

Avi's highest know note is actually Eb5, which is three "notes" up, aka semitones, and the C1 was an instrument, not him so the range would be (D1)E1-Eb5
