Hello Don... OK I understand what you said about leaving Canadian airspace piloting a remotely piloted aircraft.. My next question is... Is that for all aircraft including sub 250g? Quads like the DJI Mini 2 it's actually like 241g...
@DonJoyce4 жыл бұрын
The "901" rules apply to drones between 250g and 25Kg, so the rule about flying across the border technically does not apply to a sub250g drone like the Mini 2. Please fly safely and watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWirY4eperSfg9k

I have a question. At 1:25 in this video, on account of your picture, it seems that the airplane neither gets decreased altitude nor gain altitude. (That plane is flying level flight but just turning.) Because vertical lift from "required lift" is the same as the weight. Am I correct?
@DonJoyce3 жыл бұрын
That is correct. The plane is flying level, but turning.

Unrelated to this video. I don’t know where else to ask you this this question. Drone KZbin Channels suddenly seem to be covering the Remote ID topic. I believe new rules were rolled out in the USA. Would you know if Canada, will also get on board with Remote ID? Thanks, Don.
@DonJoyce4 жыл бұрын
Hi Wolfgang! Good question! Transport Canada is of course keeping their eye on the Remote ID stuff in the US, and mentioned it seemingly off the cuff in their BVLOS proposal mid-2020 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHTRYqGXgquFp5o). I haven't heard a peep since.

Hey keep up the great work on these videos! Question about flying across county boarders... Let's say I live across the river from Detroit... What are the rules or restrictions of flying over to their side and shooting video etc?? It's only 1.2km.. I've seen video on ppl flying from here to over there and over seen people taking off from Detroit and flying over here etc... I've heard but don't know if it's true thst flying from Canada to US is ok unless you land the craft... So just keep it in the air and you're fine... Is there any validity to this statement??
@DonJoyce4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Erwin! Regarding leaving Canadian airspace, regulation 901.13 clearly prohibits this: "No pilot operating a remotely piloted aircraft shall cause the aircraft to leave Canadian Domestic Airspace."

Also feel the load factor, sitting at rest and aircraft body is moving fast turn / up - pilot feels strong down force ,, and when aircraft body is moving fast down - pilot feels out on his seat lifted . any correctful addition ?
@DonJoyce2 жыл бұрын
True...but for drones, with the pilot remotely located, there is no such sensation. This video is for drone pilots trying to understand things on the Canadian drone pilot exams.

What are the different loads acting on Quadcopter during flight
@DonJoyce2 жыл бұрын
The loads on a quadcopter are exactly as described in this video. Generally, the forces are relatively low, and well below the failure points for the structure.
@jesusboquiren3282 жыл бұрын
Can you please enligthen me the effects of load factor on symmetrical or assymmetrical manuevers
@DonJoyce2 жыл бұрын
If this was a drone exam question topic, it would certainly fall into the "ludicrous " category! I looked around a bit, no obvious answer or connection with drone flight. My guess: asymmetrical (ie two axes of change) most likely increases the load factor. Just a guess.

Hey Don, What is the difference between your 2 RPAS pdfs? Would like to purchase one today :)
@DonJoyce3 жыл бұрын
Hi Angie! I have 3 RPAS PDFs. The Basic focuses on the requirements for Basic Operations, covering the 8 knowledge areas. The Advanced is MUCH more in-depth (250 pages) and is targeted towards those seeking their Advanced certification. The Guide to the RPAS Regulations focuses exclusively on the regulations...with an English translation of every one of the myriad of rules. I also have a free Training Roadmap and other documents available on the site: www.pocketwatchpurveyor.com/collections/drone-study-guides Hope that helps.
