I actually don't know anything about Risk of Rain, but this has been my favorite track on this album since I first heard it several months ago. I think it's because it has the moody Lovecraftian vibe about barely-knowable alien terrors, but the line "our nightmares will evolve - and so must we" strikes a very different tone. Humanity may have a very small place in the universe, but it was built to adapt and overcome challenges, and it has been very successful in that regard. The alien horrors may be insurmountable, but they might not be, and it is at the core of our nature to change however is necessary to overcome and survive. Not knowing the original inspiration, I got a "apocalyptic war with aliens that humanity is slowly starting to win" vibe from it.

I love this game and I love your music. I'd be very interested to hear more from you on this game especially if you have been looking into the story from logs and such. Two sibling child gods side by side slowly figuring out molding matter and life itself until they turn against someone alongside a cast of sci-fi characters with a dystopian theme to each of them. The slow pace of the song surprised me as I wasn't expecting it, although it works well along with the character focused narrative.
