I honestly think we are giving the rouge nation too much credit for their weapons technology, if their radar can be flown under and their targeting systems can’t tell the difference between the jet infront of it and the terrain around it, then I don’t think they got missiles that have proxy fuses, also why are flares working this effectively, don’t missile currently have ways to tell the difference between a flare and the actual engine

@@TinPanMan_REAL Its really not that hard of a maneuver, the thing that makes it rare is how demanding of a maneuver it is. You need certain amounts of lift to be generated in a turn, certain energy retention, etc. The reason why you see Russian fighters do this all the time is because of their design philosophy. America thinks that to design a new and effective aircraft you need great radar, be able to carry a big payload, use modern missiles, be able to carry out a lot of different roles, have a lot of fuel, etc. Russian's, however, try to design super maneuverable aircraft because for some reason they think that dogfights are still a thing. they are not. They died in the vietnam war.

@@leduckified1534Fuel in usa jets???😂😂😂 wtf you about? Russian jets are bigger and have bigger internal fuel tanks. Su-27 has no thrust vectoring and can do all of thats maneuvers. But not only that design is used in Russia. Russia has high speed interceptors with 300+ kilometers range amraams, strategic bombers, attakers and fighterbombers Su-34.

There's a similar move done by a p 51 mustang done in WWII. With at least one confirmed kill. The pilot shot the Persuer down on his way past. Full back stick. Full bottom rudder. Torque of the prop turns you over. Nutrilize the rudder. Full forward stick and recover. About 1500 feet below and behind the pursuit aircraft. They'd just disappear.

Y'know what? Hot take: I'm giving the movie the benefit of the doubt. We'll say that missile malfunctioned, that's all well and good, it happens. What's REALLY unforgiveable is that Maverick just watched an enemy pilot bleed all his speed for an aerobatic maneuver that presented him a large flat surface for at least 5 seconds, and NEVER ONCE thought to follow through on that missile with the guns. HE WAS HANDED THAT KILL ON A PLATTER AND INSTEAD JUST CHOSE TO STARE DUMBFOUNDED AS HE OVERSHOT ENTIRELY. The ace pilot of the movie, ladies and gentlemen.

The funny thing is most of the defining factors of the 5th gen aircraft have been a "collaboration" between US and USSR research. Modern stealth theory was invented by USSR physicist Petr Ufimtsev, but implemented by Americans on the f117, and thrust vectoring was first experimented by Americans on modified f-15s but it was USSR which turned the feature to mass production with the Sukoi line.

@@nickson_2024 The Soviet Union used a red star with white outline for its marking, with the russian federation using the same star with a line of blue added to make the star wit with the Russian flag and colors. Plus MIGs and Sus were exported to many countries, and are the most exported aircraft, by number of buyers, in the world. So that does not mean they are Soviet planes. Plus the SU-57 is the new Russian super-plane so for minor propoganda purposes they want to show a near half-century outdated naval aircraft blow them up with its cannon.
