Brain shrinking from dehydration: indeed! Once I went for a bike ride without any money and lost my water bottle. It was a hot, sunny day. By the time I got home, I had a massive headache in the middle of my head. While I was only in my late 20s then, I can still remember the pain in my head! Very worth avoiding...

This may be a silly comment, but I really love and admire your clothing choices..elegant and colorful, very feminine too! I love to see what you wearing each video..plus, love the scarves!

Hi Trisha Thank you for your lovely comments! I got my ‘colours’ done a number of years ago and it has made such a difference to my colour co-ordination and shopping is so easy now as I know which colours to avoid! Having a ‘colour party’ is a great way to learn what suits you (even hair colour and make up) and is a nice evening with a few friends and, maybe, a bottle or two of wine!! See here for more info and what it entails although you may be able to find an independent operator who charges less in your area. www.colourmebeautiful.co.uk/services-for-women/groups-parties/ I love scarves so usually end up buying a few when I am on holiday abroad and also charity shops are a great source; I can wear some for a while, gift them back then buy some more!

I became hyperthyroid around menopause. Feel so weak and drained that everyone around me is worried. Doctor wants to wait it out and treat with medications till the hormones stabilise.

I am experiencing crashing fatigue, it hits in the afternoon.i find it very hard to admit defeat and take a nap.a lady my age, works ten hours a day, then does karate, then drives her kids to hockey practice and always has cup cakes on hand that she baked from scratch.on top of it she is always in a good mood and postive.i admire her and feel jealous.
@pilatesyogataichifit6 жыл бұрын
My advice: Focus on yourself, comparing ourselves to others has no meaning. I am proud of having an afternoon nap whenever I can (i.e. when I am at home and not at work). You are a unique individual, with unique needs and strengths. You deserve to take care of yourself. Plus... cupcakes are not good for our health :)
@trishawhitehouse42265 жыл бұрын
I struggle with comparison too..it leads no where good, I know, but it's a bad habit. It leads to self-pityand self- rejecting thoughts which are such the opposite of what is helpful. Our world promotes competition from early on, so we are pushed in that direction unless we are aware we don't want to give into that kind of thinking, which requires unprograming and conscious choice to not devalue ourselves. I hope we both give ourselves the gift of self appreciation and compassion while we patiently work towards being our best us. There is only one you, and you are the best you out here. No one else can do you! Many people struggle with this, you aren't alone. I appreciate your honesty in admitting this real feeling.

@WeTalkMenopause5 жыл бұрын
Hi Cherilynn Hopefully, the tips above will be of help but if you are on the go the whole time then it is not surprising you are getting fatigued! However, I would get a general check -up from your doctor if you can just to make sure there are no other health issues. Low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12 can all appear and cause fatigue.

Hello, symptoms should begin to tail off eventually, although every women is different due to diet, health and lifestyle factors. A diet containing Omega 3-fats can be very beneficial for women during the menopause.

@WeTalkMenopause4 жыл бұрын
Hi Disha Glad to hear that you found us! Eating high sugar foods can quickly push your blood sugar levels up, then they often 'crash' quickly and it is this crash which can trigger flushes. You should find that if you avoid high sugar foods that the flushes will decrease too! Best Wishes Eileen

I noticed after my period I exercised and the fatigue came on really bad but I think I need to increase my Iron intake and B vitamin
@WeTalkMenopause4 жыл бұрын
Hi Marina Hopefully, that will help. If you feel really fatigued after exercise, this can indicate that you are doing too much and that your body can't cope with that amount of energy expenditure. Maybe try doing less for a few weeks and see if that makes a difference.

What multi vit. Do you recommend. My joints are extremely swollen & I have chronic fatigue brain fog. Thks for your 5 tips.
@WeTalkMenopause4 жыл бұрын
Hi Irene I would suggest an over 50s multivit (even if you are not over 50!) as these usually have a good combination of vits and minerals and I would also add in a separate calcium and magnesium for the bones. Remember to drink lots of water as dehydration can cause these symptoms too! Best Wishes Eileen

@WeTalkMenopause4 жыл бұрын
Hi Irene We do know that both physical and emotional stress can have a huge impact on the hormones but, at 57, it is possibly the start of the menopause. You can ask your doctor for a hormone test to see what's going on.

nothing very new here in this vid, sad to say. I can share some things that helped me: 1) hemp seed, packed full of targeted nutrition that the body readily absorbs 2) maca powder (potassium, cured my need for afternoon naps)3) Arborvitae Juice to banish joint stiffness - it works by reducing inflammation, the most common problem we all have and 4)fermented foods - I won't say google it, I will say search on Ecosia (that's a search engine that plants trees and doesn't sell your data :) ....but, I am still searching for ways to improve adrenal function, which is rather low due to a long period of chronic stress. So, still some way to go yet... good luck everyone

This makes it very hard to exercise when I exercised the other day I had this exhaustion I can't explain that came along with lightheadedness and nausea
@WeTalkMenopause5 жыл бұрын
Hi Marina We do advise that if you are experiencing ongoing fatigue that it is wise to decrease exercise until you feel your energy increasing. Gentle exercises such as Hatha Yoga are often of benefit at this time. Lightheadedness and/or nausea during or after exercise often indicates that blood sugars have taken a tumble, you may find that having a good protein/fat snack about 45 min before hand can help to keep this at bay. Also remember to drink plenty of water whilst exercising as dehydration can be another culprit!
