Merci, Géraldine! To answer your question: I remember that a young American once asked me why Germans drink their beer warm. I wasn't sure what he meant and jokingly answered, "Why, because we don't add ice cubes to the glass?" "Yes!" Wasn't easy not to burst with laughter when I told him that we actually have good refrigerators.

I'm Scottish; when I lived in France I was asked where my skirt was and reprimanded for eating Haggis. I just took it as a joke.

But Haggis is fricken delicious... glad you took it as a joke!

Très intéressant, merci! Les questions alternatives sont parfaites, c’est un twist positif pour faciliter le flux de la conversation.

To the British the distinction between vegetarians and vegans is important, vegetarians will eat eggs and dairy foods but no meat, vegans are absolutists, they eat only plant based products and avoid wool and leather or anything made from an animal they even reject medicines with gelatine in them or cosmetics with any animal ingredients.

The willingness, nay eagerness, of the French to faire la grève et faire la manifestation are big reasons I moved here. ❤

Il en va de même pour moi. J'adore la capacité d'analyser et s'exprimer soit une manif, soit débat politiques lors l'apéro.

As an Irish person who constantly has to put up with English and American people assuming I must drink pints of Guinness ( I am teetotal ) I can understand why these clichéd questions can be so annoying and offensive. I visit France regularly and enjoy the French way of life - even though I have little interest in food and am a vegetarian!

Je n’ai pas d’estomac et pourtant, beaucoup de restaurants américains ne me servent même pas une petite portion. Ils pensent que j’essaie d’être radine et de ne pas dépenser trop.

Don't ask strangers or newly met friends what they do for a living or what their religion is.

Finland also doesn't do small talk. As you said, a lot of Europeans have more of a coconut 🥥 presentation. --- Lyon is a beautiful city! Shoutout to my friends in Mâcon! (Un grand coucou aux mes amis Mâconnais?)

Well you don’t ask those questions to strangers regardless of their nationality or skin color, not just for French people. It’s a common sense.

Why do you speak English all the time?! Isn't it supposed to be a French channel?
@Mallowolf13 сағат бұрын
As you can infer from the title and content of this and other videos, it’s a channel for teaching French. So it would defeat its purpose if the intended audience could not understand the contents of it.

This is an example of one of the questions you should avoid asking 😬not included in the video but i thought i'd let you know
@wilsonaish9 сағат бұрын
Because Géraldine can run the channel however she wants to.
@michgreeno18 сағат бұрын
Because if you are learning French you may not understand every single word until it is learned, the object of the chanel is to teach.
