Hello, and thank you for your detailed videos. Really appreciate them! I have an issue, with the last step of the video. I did everything with your links descriptions step by step. I can't enter in OFW option (by Hekate menu) when rebooting. I press on the OFW button --> screen goes black (like its gonna start booting) and remains black forever.. The only way to bring it back to Hekate menu and go to other options of sysmmc or emummc is to press the power button for 12 seconds (that makes the switch to reboot from the beginning, to the Hekate menu). Could you suggest any solutions, how i will enter in the OFW and i will not stuck in a forever black screen..? Thanks in advance

Write your Switch's Burn Fuse data here. Go to Hekate, select the Console Info menu at the top, and choose HW & Fuse. Check the Burn Fuse data in the top left corner. Write it down here.

@@goplayfull Found a solution by my own! i had a clean (from apps, themes or/and 3rd party programs) SYSMMC, so i got connected to the internet, i updated from 19.0.0 to 19.0.1 only in SYSMMC via nintendo switch servers in settings and VOILA! After the update, i reboot the switch in the Hekate menu, and i was able to reboot to OFW via Hekate normaly.. Also the: Burnt Fuses (ODM 7/6): 19 | 0 - HOS: 17.0.0 - 18.1.0 changed to --> Burnt Fuses (ODM 7/6): 20 | 0 - HOS: 19.0.0+

Hey, great video and amazing audio quality! You mentioned that if we're using a different CFW, we should delete the atmosphere, bootloader, and config folders. I bought the Switch as is and have no idea what was used. Would you recommend deleting the folders anyway?

Simple and straight to the point as always! I have a question (well, more like a clarification), if I update my stock and emummc to 19.0.1 will it still work, right? Apparently, I cannot really follow your steps completely because whenever I hold or select R when clicking the album button in SYSNAND, nothing shows up. So I thought I'll just update my stock firmware the old way Nintendo style.

You can update to 19.0.1, as this custom firmware also works on that version, but it seems the issue isn’t related to that. Have you tried opening the album menu without holding the R button? If you’re using the same custom firmware pack as in this video, it should work.

Thanks for the guides. I successfully updated the firmware. Btw on the DBI, even i already set the Installed Games option to Yes but in the MTP Responder (in PC) I still cant find the Installed Game folder. Do you know whats wrong with it? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks again

Try changing all the statuses under MTP storage to "Yes."

It doesn't have any effect, but it's best to update the original firmware first via the internet, directly from the Switch running on the original firmware, not via sysnand/sysmmc as shown in the video. So, you can skip the firmware update step via sysnand/sysmmc.

So would this work for me? my device was so old its was compatable to mod around 2021~ my atmosphere is a bit old & system as well i just want to instant jump into this + 3:20 how did your PC connected to your switch like this? it's so hard to do so

As shown in the video, it is connected using a USB Type-C cable. But before that, the DBI application must be launched on the Switch.

So i got to the last step where you reboot and select OFW to show that the NAND has been updated to 19.0. My switch won't let me make that option. I also notice that I do not have to use the RCM jig and press the button combo to get into RCM mode. Is this something I may have set to happen in Hekate's settings? I used incognito to zero out the serial on EMUmmc CFW. I dont think I have always used the sysnand boot option to update OFW. Should I make a fresh back up of my NAND from Hekate to be safe?

I forgot to mention at the beginning that this tutorial video is only for Switches using a modchip, not an RCM jig. Booting into the original firmware is different for Switches with a modchip. If you don't have AutoRCM installed, you can just boot the system normally.

Try removing the SD card. Can it boot to the original firmware? If yes, try setting up the SD card from scratch, but you’ll lose your save games and installed games. Make sure the original firmware is compatible with the custom firmware pack.

I’ve searched the comments and cannot find the answer. After I copy atmosphere and the cf pack you put your sd card on your switch and it boots hekate. Well in my case it boots into the original fw. I cannot get to hekate like you. I’m using hats 1.8.0v1.3 and trying to install 19.0.0. If it’s useful info currently in my OFW I had 15.0.1 and in the CFW I’m running 15.0.1 AMS 1.5.3 E

The original firmware must match the compatibility of the custom firmware pack. You must install the original firmware version 19.0 first.

After updating the regular side of the switch the modded side stopped going into sleep mode and just turned off. After trying to fix it from forums it is now not turning on. Without knowing what was added or subtracted from the sd card, is it pretty much over and I should just turn it in to get fixed? I just wanted to make sure there was nothing I could first

You say, that the JKSD App can be downloaded via the store. Until now I never used online functions with my modded switch. I thought this is strictly forbidden because there is a high risk to be banned? 🤔 😬

I am not too tech savvy so i can't explain it in details but basically a modded switch has 3 environment. Two of them run modded things in your switch, if you have set up your switch properly then you won't be getting banned even if you go online in that environment. You can even download apps for hb just like the op does he. There's one environment called ofw or official firmware where the switch act like a stock one, in this mode you can play online and won't be banned but i think you can't play your 'backup' games in here.

If you run your Switch through emuNAND, it's safe to install and download non-legit games or homebrew applications from internet. The custom firmware pack already includes a script to prevent you from getting banned when connected to the internet. What you must avoid is running non-legit games on sysNAND/sysMMC/semi-stock. Even though you can install non-legit games there, you will get banned when your Switch connects to the internet.

I update exactly like this from other older video minus the backup save tips, I update mine from cfw 16.0.3 after successful update I get issue with tinfoil from the homebrew menu doesn't work because I keep getting not enough memory error so my option is just installed the nsp version and it works without need download sigpatches which I believe included from hats pack. my question is why the homebrew version doesn't work and how to fix it ?

Did you use a different custom firmware pack during the update? If so, that might be the cause. Use the same CF pack. If that doesn’t solve the issue, you’ll need to set up the SD card from scratch.

I am getting this error when i update the firmware through daybreak. Validation failed with result: 0x00011805 Program id: 0100000000000804 Version: 19.0.0 COntent id: 3.....something something. Hekate has been updated to 6.2.2 and currently i am on firmware version 16

The custom firmware and the original firmware versions should be the same. So you need to update the original firmware to version 19.00 first

I got a comment from someone who had a similar issue, and this is what they did. Hopefully, it works for you too! Figured it out in the end. Updating through daybreak will not update the fuses, and the fuses were left at 18.1.0 Starting SysMMC will ignore the fuse check that's why that part was working. Starting in OFW will not since it does check the fuses. I had to downgrade via sysmmc to 18.1 then I could boot into OFW, updated via official updater. After that the fuses were correctly burnt and everything was working.

I had previously installed 19.0.1 on my stock firmware sysnand. i followed the video and im assuming when i installed 19.0.0 on the sysmmc it messed something up because booting into OFW and sysmmc the swith craches within 5 seconds (error 2162-0002). Emummc updated to 19.0.0|ams 1.8.0 is working just normal. How to i fix my original sysmmc or reinstal 19.0.1 if it keeps crashing? I read the pinned comment as i feel its a similar issue but im unsure how to connect to the internet to update directly from nintento servers if it crashes. Thank you in advance!

Sorry for the late response. Have you tried removing the SD card and then turning on the Switch? It should be able to boot into OFW.
