I have been using Whoop for a week. First, this is very informative and more info needs to be easily available. I noticed that the "none Whoop guys" seemed to use the equipment "willy nilly". The results readings they get will be willy nilly. Something that collects data 100 times a second needs to be worn at all times (minus showers or other short term things) to get an accurate picture. If you take an hour off here or there it defeats the reason for wearing it. This is one of those things your either in or out or you are wasting your time (my opinion). So far this last week I am impressed and once I get more data (30 days) I will be able to form an educated opinion. I have been training and trained others for over 50 years. (edit) Where can is what they are looking at on the laptop? I am visual (thus KZbin).

Thank you for doing this! I’ve completely changed my training and work routine recently and have been very keen on trying to maximize my recovery and optimal performance. I’ve been curious about Whoop and this was fantastic!

It would be interesting to see how these hrv monitors can predict physician burnout.

I would happily have bought a Whoop band if it wasn't a subscription basis. I wouldn't necessarily mind if it was £400 or so, but even if you pay every 18 months, it's still around £200/year, and after 5 years you've spent over £1000 which is, frankly, absurd. The fact that if they went bust or whatever also means that you would lose all of your historical data etc. I'm not convinced wrist-based monitors are accurate enough for me at least. I've tried 2 (Fitbit and Garmin Vivoactive 3) and both were wildly off my chest strap Wahoo Tickr unfortunately. One question though....if taking HRV readings, is it better to try to take them whilst you're asleep or in the morning? Many apps ask to take morning readings because you won't be stressed from the day etc and the readings will be pretty consistent. However, if you can take it overnight, would this be an even better method to see where you actually are from a recovery perspective? Thanks!

I'm giving it a shot. But yeah, I am having a hard time justifying the subscription. I think they take the readings at night while you're sleeping. But I'm not totally sure on that

Great job guys. I had ordered the Whoop and watched this whole video after to learn more. Than I realized you had a discount code that would have saved me $26 more than the Discount code Whoop provided me for submitting my email. I could cancel and reorder but that would be a lot of hazard. You know if your code can be use for accessories?

I think it can be used for any purchases they have. Not 100% sure

@Pambli Caru: Given that he referenced ounces. It is safe to assume that he meant body weight in pounds.

I’m going to try this out. I’ve read so many reviews about the heart rate tracker being way off but I have to give it a shot

Difference between this and the Oura ring?

You pay for whoop forever
@Merco815 жыл бұрын
Late response, sorry if you already got an answer from this, but I did see an article comparing the two recently. Long story short, both have similar metrics and sample data at similar rates, but whoop is more practical to use during a workout where if you have the Oura ring on during the workout you risk scratching/damaging the device. This is if you workout with your hands (i.e. powerlifting, weightlifting, crossfit, etc) If you're more of a runner or something of a leg dominant athlete or you don't care about the data metrics during the workout the Oura ring might be better.

Yeah let’s buy into another membership. You are pretty much buying a new a Apple Watch every year. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Whoop sounds great but the cost to own one over time is an absolute joke

The bald guy keeps cracking jokes and talking over the expert, who is actually worth listening to if you want to learn. Truth be told, the bald guy is bloody annoying.
