Great observation, one of those things that seems obvious once it's pointed out. Using spin to change the cut angle on the object ball to be closer to a half ball hit makes the shot play more forgiving.

I’ve watched almost every Niels video. It’s amazing how much, well, professional his videos have become. Just like he had to learn a lot as a pro pool player, he’s had to learn a lot to produce a similar amount of professionalism in his vids. No more fun but raw and inefficient hourlong vids with mediocre visuals and sound. Well done! Niels is a great teacher, almost as good now as amateur players like Sharivari, but with the high-level insight of the best pool players ever. Very few other pros come close to Niels as a teacher. And none surpass him. They are too impatient and assume too much on the part of their intended audience. If we knew as much as those pros think we do, there would be no need for them as our teachers!

Hey Niels congrats on the Bosnia win. Just wanted to suggest that we'd all love just to hear you take about your wins/loses and your persective on things. Maybe even pick out a few key shots and discuss them. I know it takes a lot of effort making videos and you want to concentrate on your rnaking for the Mosconi (go Niels), but we'd really all just like to hear from you time to time. Even just a brief match v-log occasionally. Stay strong brother!

this is really advanced, I like it. it's sort of like how you can use sidespin to change the angle of approach, to make a kick'n'stick type of shot hit full, instead of a half-ball cut that sells out. Didn't occur to me to change the angle of approach to avoid the double kiss also.

Great stuff as always! I have a question I can't seem to find a good answer to online. What drills should I be doing (and which should I be avoiding) while my table is in horrible condition? I bought my first house and have a 9' Gold Crown in the basement that desperately needs new cloth and rails, and I have many other expenses to take care of around the house before I can afford to have my table redone. I am learning to jump since I don't have to worry about damaging the already damaged cloth, but I am weary of practicing too much on it otherwise as I don't want to get used to the speed of such a slow table. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sir, I have a question if you see this. How much does depth perception matter in pool? Since you don't have vision in one eye, you don't have binocular vision, which... takes away depth perception? Pool is played on a 2d surface, so maybe it doesn't matter as much? I know another player who is totally blind on one eye and is a great shot. He argues it doesn't handicap him. Your thoughts?

Hello sir, I want to ask a question about butt of a cue. What is the difference between expensive butt and the cheap one?, If the shaft we got the technology such as the low deflection which makes it expensive. what about the butt ? What makes it so expensive ? Is it only for visual purpose? Anyone who understands can please let me know. Thank you and sorry for my bad English😅

I admit: I had to laugh like hell. Watched Niels played Mario He at the WPC. He erred late in the game when his cue ball butted up against a colored ball and he had no look on what would have been an easy shot. Niels gave an exasperated look just like he does when he makes purposeful misses in some of his video openers. I was rooting hard for Niels - he should have won - but Niels, come on, you tutorials are infecting your game! 😂 Ruiz would have been tuff to beat, though. He is playing like the billiards equivalent of Michael Jordan now.
