Thanks Terminator! I hate when my brain thinks I can't lose but the cue ball goes rogue leaving me right at the side pocket hooked by the cushion. Best game in the world humbling us so easily if we mistep by millimeters. Mental and physical action need perfect control plus raw determination. It's the best. Wish it had better payouts like Snooker or Golf. I still won't stop playing.

an amateur player is much, much more likely to fuck up a draw shot than a simple bounce off the rail. Strong disagree on this one.

4:00 you have an open table in the center. Why not sending the cue ball with running English around the table up to the two ball? Isn't letting it roll a little easier for amateurs than drawing it over the whole table?
@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen 2 күн бұрын
You have to put the cue ball so close to the 1 to have the correct angle to do that. You could risk a double hit and you have to hit it pretty hard to go 4 rails. The draw is much easier than it looks. Try both options 10x and let me know. 1 ball chalk distance of the rail max for this example 😄💪🏼

Love this. Keep 'em coming. One question. In the second to last example, how did you know to hit the ball at 10 o'clock to get the right spin to come off the rail and split those balls to get position on the 2. Your reasoning on why to set up the shot is perfect but I wouldn't know exactly where to hit the ball with regards to spin to achieve the wanted position. Any suggestions on that topic? thx again.

KISS: Keep it Simple Stupid! 🎱 Less cue ball movement no spin! Let angles and rails do work for you! Into the line of the shot and not crossing it! Wider margin for error!

Awesome video! I always wondered the correct way to hit these shots. For the example at 3:15, would you ever want to go 3-4 rails around the 8 and 9 ball to get on the 2 instead of drawing straight back?

Idk, because the 2 had perfect angle after your set up. That means that rail angle is your 90% one. I would set that on the 1 and naturally has CB come out to 2 as well

Around 4 minutes, . I'm really proficient at those long cut shots with the action balls close together, so wouldn't shoot the easy shot ith loads of draw, I'd place the cue ball on the other side and shoot the 1 in our right head pocket with follow. Yours is better, but all that draw needs a yo-yo hand to control it.

Hi, would you please explain the purpose of the one tip right English on the sun and stun-draw shots? Does it really help enough to counteract the increased risk of missing the shot for beginners / intermediates? Thank you very much for all your excellent instruction!

It's a little bit of helping english to neutralize the "throw" that you get on a hit like this. There's a tendency to hit those shots too thick therefore the little tip of outside english. Hope this helps
@seamusmcfadden994
@seamusmcfadden994 4 күн бұрын
Niels is 100% right. Sometimes I explain cut induced "throw" as the balls "sticking" together during the cut. It's only a for a brief instant, but that tip of english counters that. Try it with the pool balls in your hand on the table. Exaggerate it. That should help you see it. Friction. Physics.👍
@Lanten77
@Lanten77 4 күн бұрын
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen thank you, I understand. I didn't really think of that since you had to hit it somewhat firmly to stun across the table I didn't think that there would be much cut induced throw with the firmer speed. Thanks again!

Tough drill, but becoming my favorite. Just started last week after months of doing The Skillful Square, Up and Down Drill, Yo-Yo Drill and Terrific Three. Got through the first set okay. Pattern 4, with the two ball on the short rail opposite the one, was particularly tough. Really makes you work to get around the table, concentrate on angles and deliver a consistent stroke. Since I have watched this video a lot, another $10 for The Teacher.

9 ball should be replaced with 10 ball you sink 1 to 3 balls on the break in 9 ball you are basically playing 6 ball or 7 ball. 10 ball harder would leave more balls on the table and run outs would require more skill.
