Spigen is smart, they made the edges black because I can guarantee you that those black edges on the screen protector don’t stick properly. The screen of the pro 8 still has a slight curve. The only screen that’s flat out of the flagship phones are iPhones. Having black edges on the pixel pro screen protector, makes you think that it’s fully adhered to the screen which in fact it isn’t.

bought this screen protector for my 8 pro. used whitestone dome glass on previous phones but thought id try this. Its a nice screen protector. the black sides are a bit annoying but get used to it. Only issue is when i put the rugged armor case on it the two sizes kept lifting off the glass. so i had to put some paper in the corners of the case to stop it from being too tight against the phone.

The screen is not flat, the black borders are there to hide the halo effect which is very horrible...

There’s a black border round the 7a screen itself. If the screen protector’s are on that or others, that’s okay. Wrap is more important for the Spigen design. - My priority: Does the protector interfere with finger unlocking?

I've been hearing people on Reddit mention that these Spigen protectors on the 8 Pro cut off 0.5-1mm of screen at the edges. Did you notice anything like this?

I did. First off, the alignment tool must have been warped or something because I used both screen protectors and they both ended up slightly crooked. There is a black border around the edge of the screen protector and that blocks off a good millimeter or more of the screen. I put a caseology case on my phone and the edges of the case came in contact with the screen protector causing it to lift up and bubble. Not impressed at all. I hope I can find a decent screen protector/case combo that works as they should. I just bought a whitestone dome screen protector. Hopefully that will fit better...

Ich habe kein Problem damit das dass Glas einen schwarzen Rand hat, was mich sehr stört ist dass es einen Rand mit Luft gibt, und ich denke dass sollte der schwarze Rand auch verdecken.

For people curious as to why there are black borders, it’s the only way to have a seamless look for these flat screens that are very slightly curved near the edge. If you try applying a screen protector without the black borders and you wanted to cover most of the screen, there’s gonna be a bit of adhesive that won’t stick on the edges and it’ll show a bunch of light which will accumulate dust overtime. This is the next best alternative, there is no perfect screen protector for these types of screens.

​@@Danny1024DMsame here the protector installs fine and looks great but the protector is too small for the 8pro the protectors Black borders cover the phone screen making it a bit smaller but it is noticeable. Spigen used to be good to with this protectors. White stone is too pricey even with that warranty. They don't last me long. If you know a better option let me know. Thanks

I purchased one just like this for my pixel 8. While quality appeared good I have to say it was one of the worst screen protectors I have purchased in years. No matter what I did an edge would continue to allow air to seek underneath. So aggrevating. I went thru both protectors and neither held. I also had purchased the camera protection screen and that was even worse. There was a tab to pull to remove the protective covering. The first one tore off leaving paper component still and no matter how I tried to remove I was unable. Threw that one away and said well I have at least a second one. I applied, pulled the tab and the same thing happened but this time no paper just a winkled mess. Tried removing with fingers put unsuccessful. What a total waste of money. I went on Amazon, found an off brand for a 1/3 of the cost and had no issues applying. Spingen if you are going to sell such a high priced item should have better quality control.
