Matt, this is right on!! If i use Control IQ, my post meal BG goes sky high. This drives me crazy. My levels and A!c are excellent when I only use Sleep Control at night. My Endocrinologist reluctantly supports me since she has no other patients with such good levels. (94% in range) Becoming a Warrior was life changing for me. Thank you, Nancy

I am so happy I found you. I have had diabetes for 47 years and have a new Ionic bionic pump and it’s working pretty well for me but everything you’re talking about is spot on. I appreciate that.

Glad this one was helpful, the new pumps are cool, but not perfect yet

Thank you for the way you explain the reason for sometimes turning off Control IQ in this video. I never really understood why it would be beneficial before this video. It’s been a game changer with my levels after eating wow! Makes so much sense now and since I’ve been trying it I don’t spike after meals.!!! It’s actually so incredible. Thank you again!! 😊

I'm so glad to hear that it was helpful! There's a lot of "behind the scenes" learning that we have to do, that's why I make these videos 🙂

The conclusion that closed loop insulin pumps improve BG control is typically based on research on T1D/T2D patient populations with HbA1C well above 6%. Indeed, which standard do you want to set. For this reason I'm on a manual untethered approach, 50% MDI, 50% insulin pump therapy.

Please don’t forget to do a diagnosis video, it would really help introduce yourself plus when we watch we don’t know at what stage in life you acquired T1D it could be under 18 or more recently in as LADA

When you are talking about Tandem are you always talking about Control IQ? My son has basal IQ and doesn't want Control IQ for the reasons you guys are talking about. Does the Basal IQ have any algorithms other than turning off when going low? I ask because sometimes it feels like it is making decisions but I didn't think it was suppose to be able to--unlike Control IQ. Also, when you were talking about working with athletes I was wondering how you were doing at losing the 12 pounds you gained when training for your last event. My son is struggling to lose weight. He was able to a few years ago but gained a few pounds back and the same methods aren't working this time.

Great question! I lost the weight using our updated methods in about a month. You can find those replays and resources here: t1dbootcamp.com as the methods must be a little different for those of us with T1D and weight loss

People say to me ‘why are you hypo/highblood sugar, I thought the pump stopped all this?’ I like my pump, Tandem T-Slim x2 hybrid closed loop and DexG6.Loved what you said and described on this video. Do you ever go back on insulin pens for a pump break? I find my blood sugars are pretty good and steady if I skip meals! xxxx

I'm actually planning a little pump break at the end of the year - looking forward to the simplicity (and no site changes haha)

What type of pump do you use and CGM with your pump?
@FTFWARRIOR2 ай бұрын
I use the tandem pump and dexcom CGM, what about you?

It's the reason I keep resisting moving from Omnipod Dash to the Omnipod 5. Not sure I want to think for me AND the pump.

I totally feel ya! I turn off the algorithm during the day and use the same blood sugar formula that I teach my clients, BUT overnights are nice to have the algorithm to help out while I sleep

I have! The founders are friends of mine and really good people. Not 100% on board with the methodology, but I know they've helped a lot of people. Why do you ask?
